I don’t think this is anything to get angry about either way, I was originally just surprised at how much bile Cisco seems to have for a show on principle and for its reflection on society. Which, uh, doesn’t make too much to make sense.
Oh, I was just throwing it out; it didn’t get much airplay but “Touch Me Vito” was all over our news. silenus is usually a pretty moderate guy so I figured he might’ve had an axe to grind.
silenus said he hadn’t seen the movies, nor would he go to see the new movie (which was the topic of the CS thread). He did not state if he’d seen any of the series at all. Maybe he’s caught a minute or two of the television series or seen some clips and that was more than enough for him? I know it was for me, the kinds of jackassery, asshattery, and dumbassery I have seen on various bits of the series are enough to put me off the concept entirely.

You start a thread about a movie involving a group of performers that people have widely divergent opinions about (many negative), and then you get yourself all wadded into a ball because he dares to sneer at the artistic merit of “Jackass 2”?

They’re both views that were reached through ignorance. Apparently they both result in hate, too, as silenus wants the entire cast of this movie dead.
At least I “flew off the handle” in the appropriate forum. He was thread-shitting, plain and simple. I assume that silenus would claim to have seen an episode of Jackass now, so as to make himself look a little less stupid, but if he really had, it seems like it would’ve been very relevant to his posts and he would’ve mentioned it.
Sorry but I thought what he did was just rude as hell. You don’t come into a thread where someone is raving about a new movie they loved and wish the entire cast dead. It’s just bad fucking manners. The fact that he hasn’t even seen the movie just makes it worse. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, but if it’s a grossly uninformed opinion, I have the right to call you a dumbass.
