Simple Joys

Sitting all comfy in my giant squashy chair with something nice to drink by my elbow, all involved in what I’m doing and having my sweetie spread the big fuzzy blanket over the heater and get it toasty warm, almost hot, before draping it perfectly over my lap and around my feet–aaaahhhh… Don’t know how he does it, but he always knows when I’m just on the verge of chilly and gets that warm blanket over me just as the cold starts to bother me.

Right after he drapes the blanket, the dog curls up on my feet and at least one of the cats will hightail it over to cuddle on the toasty blanket with me and steal some therms. That’s nice.

Those perfect 65-75 degree spring days when the rhododendrons are blooming all over the city–driving anywhere is a glutton’s delight of outrageously colored, profligate expanses of gorgeous shiny green foliage and riotous flowers, spectacular! They can call it the Rose City all they like, but it’s the rhodies that really stand out.

Bagby hot springs–it’s what I do instead of church…
