This wasn’t for one warning but for a series of warnings. I don’t know why the mods didn’t list them in the announcement. They usually do.
It was two people fucking, and was quite large/detailed. True, I have a netbook but I had to scroll to see all of it.
I admit, I was a amused, just for the throwback, but it was definitely something your boss could see over your shoulder and get you in worlds of trouble.
Pretty sure he was suspended over this warning, otherwise they wouldn’t have suspended him following it, instead of the others. I understand that this warning didn’t exist in a vacuum, but the point was it shouldn’t have existed at all. It’s like suspending someone who has behaved poorly in the past over absolutely nothing one day, arguing it was in part due to a series of bad behaviors. Actually, it’s not like suspending someone for that; it *is *suspending someone for that. He didn’t do anything this time. But I told myself I was going to stop bothering with moderator action discussion threads, so I’m going to play with a ball of string now. See you in a month, Linctus!
I admit the use of that word threw me too, when I was just reading the thread. Looked like a hateful, personally insulting post. If that poster and the poster he was quoting had a history, I’d have certainly interpreted it that way.
However, in context, it simply appeared to me to be more of the “negging” - that is, saying negative things about someone in an attempt to lower their self-esteem, so as to fool them into having sex with you - that was being parodied, not seriously aimed.
Unwise posting, obviously. Certainly worthy of a note or caution. My “read” for what it’s worth (probably not much! :D) was that it was not meant to be malicious.
What took so long?
Thought he was being edgy and hip by always pushing everything to the limit, riding on being new and unaware, thought he could dress it up as jokes and satire and somehow, no one would notice.

Didn’t he send a PM to one of the mods about KatePS, the brief beef peddler? And one of the mods replied that it was one of the most ridiculous PMs they had ever gotten?
Yes, that was him. He actually posted the contents of the PM he sent Colibri on another board and yes, it was pretty ridiculous.
I didn’t say it was justified. I see it as just accelerating the inevitable. The guy is set to self-destruct. He’s already had a series of warning, and it’s not like you get “x” number and you’re out-- it’s a judgement call by the mods. I think they are often too lenient.
The PM didn’t figure directly in his suspension, but it was either trolling or seriously stupid.
Wait, so he can’t link to any more videos of him eating his nose hairs for a whole month?! I’ll have to go back to watching The Truman Show!

Ok. Thank you. I normally just click on “New Posts” and apparently I missed the announcement. Learning a bunch from this MB. First thing I learned was: I ain’t real bright. It was a real humbling experience.

Hanlon’s Razor is the main reason he wasn’t suspended sooner.
