Simpsons Fanatics, please ID this episode for me!!!

Can someone tell me which episode contains Homer watching a PBS-like channel with a Garrison Keiller-type guy. After a few moments of utter confusion, Homer runs to the television, hits it, and screams “Be funny!!!”

I can’t think of what episode this is. Can someone help me out?

I don’t know the episode code, but IIRC its the one where he breaks the TV and they have to go buy a new one from the place a hundred something miles away and he ends up stealing cable (someone correct me if I’m wrong or mixing up a couple episodes together).

Hmmm, the PBS part makes me think that it might be the ep where he pledges some insane amount of money in order to get them to stop their funding drive programming, andto get them to return to the regular program. (IIRC, it was some British show called “Do shut up” or something) anyhoo, he can’t pay it and has to become a missionary in the South Pacific, where he introduces alcohol and gambling to the island. Chaos ensues.
I like this ep because of the classic “Help me, Jeebus!” line.

Or, I could be thinking of something else entirely.

This is from the episode tiltled “Marge on the Lam” [1F03]

I think they’re running together a little in your mind, clayton. What you describe is partly from the episode “Scenes from the Class Struggle in Springfield”. When their TV breaks, the Simpsons go to the Outlet Mall in Ogdenville to get a new one, and while they’re there Marge finds a Chanel suit which leads to them hobnobbing at the Springfield Glen Country Club. It’s not the ep the op is looking for; the TV was trashed by Grandpa who was fiddling with it while trying to see what was on the other broadcasts.

And the episode where Homer pledges more than he can afford to PBS is the one where he ends up as a missionary in the South Pacific.

The episode where Homer ended up as a missionary started with him watching a British show on PBS about a family of Soccer Houligans who fight all the time. The chase seen with the Teletubbies shooting death rays from their head thingies and Big Bird flying down to attack Homer is a classic.

HELP ME JEEBUS!

Why, Do Shut Up was England’s longest-running series. I’ve got all seven episodes on tape!

I believe there was another English series playing called Shut yer Gob
