Simpson's movie in the works

Finally, a script appears to be in the works for a Simpson’s movie. It’s about time. I have to admit, I’d have been more excited to hear this news a few seasons ago. Sounds like it’s gonna be at least another 5 years before it hits theaters, which is like telling your kid you’re going to Disney World 3 years in advance. But my real worry is that we’re gonna see a Simpson’s movie of the caliber of the past few seasons and not Simpson’s in it’s prime. So a couple questions:

  1. What are some possible plot lines?

  2. Do they kill off a main character?

  3. Will people care in 5 years?

  4. Will it be any good?

I’d love to see a Simpsons movie that took a slightly different take, like with live action or with the kids about eight years older or done in Pixar style.

It could be great.

Are we expecting the show to last five more years? I shudder to think. I think it’s obvious that this can be a wonderfully written tribute to the series and its fans…or a steaming pile, a lot of it depends on timing. And please god no live action or CG simpsons for at least 20 years when it can be a gimicky movie based on a “classic” cartoon (scooby doo).

Icle a while back that said that they were trying to do the same thing for the Simpsons movie that Matt Stone and Trey Parker did for Sout Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut, and that the original writers of the Simpsons were doing the writing for the movie.

It should be a classic.

The first sentence in that post was supposed to say “I read an artilcle a while back”. Not sure why it came out like that.

My reaction to this news is best summed up in the OP’s name.

Still, I’ll probably see it anyway.

Could the movie plans be somehow related to the actors’ strike?
