Simpsons Throwaways and Tossoffs

During the ending of the B-Sharps episode, George Harrison drives by in a limousine, pauses to look up at the rooftop where Homer et al are singing and says, “It’s been done before.”

Actually, the quote is, “It’s been done.” I’m pretty sure this is the case. Still funny.

At the school staff talent show, Skinner announces Willie’s comedy act: “And up next we have the wacky antics of Groundskeeper Willie, or shall I say grinskeeper, heh heh…no, wait, it IS groundskeeper.”

When Skinner quits school and becomes a street biker, he rides away past Bart and his friends. Bart says “Skinner?!” and Skinner politely replies “Up yours, children.”

And when Lisa cheats on a test and Skinner calls her to his office, he says “Lisa, after looking over the results of yesterday’s test, I feel saddened…no, wait, what’s the word…ah yes, delighted!”

Skinner’s great for little throw-aways like that.

Note that these are from memory and probably not exactly correct.

MY alltime favorite episode is the one where the Simpsons move to That nice new town (name??:smack:)

Scorpio:Homer, if you could kill someone on the way out, It would really be appreciated.
Homer:…have any suger?
::Scorpio digs into his pants to pull out raw bagless sugar from his pockets.

Special Eds student: I fell on my head, and when I woke up I was here!

 The pure energy of that episode makes me laugh-a-loud.
I’d also like to point out how horrible the new episodes are. The old ones were so great, the new ones are so boring and repititious. Dont you think?

Wow, that is one ugly post.

(Mods, and help would be appreciated.)

My favorite is below:

[Lisa] “No Maggie - Olmec. Ol-mec.” [/Lisa]

(from the Behind the Scenes episode)

Homer: I thought … the cop… was a prostitute.

In the episode where the discovery of the “stone angel” makes Springfield turn anti-science:

The townspeople run amok, burning everything that has to do with science… including a Christian Science Reading Room. That was priceless.

I’m pretty sure that in the episode where Burns brings in a whole baseball team of ringers for the company game, there’s a scene in a locker room where, while the camera is panning, we hear a towel snap followed faintly by an “aw fuck!”

But I haven’t seen the episode in awhile and I can’t confirm this. It’s just something that I remember.

Scorpio: Want any cream?
Homer: Uhhhhhh…noooooo.

Sped Student 2: I’m from Canada and they think I’m slow, eh?
Hee-hee. And thus began everyone in my middle school’s mocking of Canada.

No.

Speaking of the stone angel episode:
Rev. Lovejoy: Once again, science has failed in the face of overwhelming religion!

I cant remember the episode or the exact name of the first guy but it goes something like this:

Homer is reminiscing about something and says: "I remember my school days with Mike, Richy and the Fonz…

Marge: “No Homer that was ‘Happy Days’”

Homer: “Well Marge they weren’t all happy days”

It doesn’t fail to crack me up!

In the stone angel episode, the crowd is vandalizing the science museum when the dinosaur skeleton collapses and pins Moe, crushing his spine. He says: (IIRC)

“I hope modern medical technology can save me.”

I love it when my Frink-o-Matic Irony Meter explodes like that.

Speaking of which, does someone have the dialogue from the Mensa episode where some comment by the comic book guy detonates Frink’s irony meter?

The thing I like the most about that episode is the fact that the theme of their 70’s high school reunion is the 50’s.

I skipped a bunch of posts, so I apologize if I repeat:

When they go back to Homers childhood home and Homer reminises about his childhood; you see a young Homer sitting in front of the TV and his shadow from the light of the TV on the wall behind him. Back to present day, and the paint on the wall is fresh appearing in the same shape as his shadow outline.

Another is when the family is sitting on the couch watching cartoons and Lisa complains about the fantasy portrayed in the cartoon, Homer replies that it is a cartoon and that it doesn’t have to be a mirror of reality and just then a second Homer walks by the window outside.

No, but if it helps, it was a sarcasm meter.

“Oh, a sarcasm meter. That’s a really useful invention.”

sarcasm meter explodes

WELL! At least Podkayne had the intelligence, wit and good graces to comprehend me.

Hey babe, how’s John Carter doing?[wink]

I forget the other things Comic Book Guy is pissed off about, but the one that destroys Frink’s device is “Oh, a sarcasm detector. That’s a REAL useful invention!”
