Sims 2: How do I deal with a ghost?

So my sim Alison managed to seduce Brandi Broke into abandoning her two kids and leaving her boyfriend to move in with her. Turns out I picked exactly the right day to ask her to move in, as she wakes up the next morning pregnant. It also turns out that I picked a bad time to neglect to restock the refrigerator, so while Alison was off working the night shift, at the ER, Brandi, unable to order groceries in the middle of the night, starved to death. Unfortunate, but hey, things happen.

I dutifully placed Brandi’s ashes on a ceremonial table, and promptly seduced Nina into taking her place in Alison’s home and bed. This took a few days, but we managed to set up a happy home. Then it’s bedtime, and Brandi’s ghost (still pregnant) shows up to haunt us. At first I think it’s cool, as one of Alison’s big wants is to see a ghost, so I set to chasing it around the house. Brandi’s ghost manages to scare Nina into wetting herself, and seems to be stalking her, but no matter what I do, I cannot get Alison positioned right to see her. While I’m doing this, I fail to notice that I forgot to feed Nina supper, and the ghost’s stalking has made it impossible for Nina to sleep. By the time I try to send her to get some food, she’s exhausted, and collapses on the floor. While I’m trying to to get her to wake up, she runs out of food.

I have Alison beg Death for her life, and they play “Which hand is the glowing ball of life force in?” Alison wins, the blue ball of life force revives her and death leaves empty-handed. Unfortunately Nina disappeared with Death. She still appeared in the family screen, and was listed on the relationship menu, but she was otherwise gone. She disappeared from the household menu a few game days later, but the games stlll seemed to think her side of the bed was occupied, and wouldn’t allow me to make, sell or do anything on that side. I had to move out and back in to give Alison’s new mate a chance to sleep in the same bed.

First, I must say that any game in which the pregnant ghost of your first girlfriend haunts your current girlfriend to death is a work of capital “A” Art.

Second, assuming I don’t want any future haunting deaths, how do I deal with a ghost when she shows up? Is there an “exorcism” option somewhere?

I didn’t want to slog through six pages looking for one answer to one specific question, which is why this is a new thread.

There’s two things you can do. Moving the urn outside will create a tombstone, which would hopefully result in the ghost not being inside as much. You could delete the urn to simply get rid of the ghost but I don’t know if you need to have Moveobjects on to do that.

You can delete either an urn (inside) or a headstone (outside) while in “buy” mode. Once that is gone, no more ghost.

Thanks, will keep in mind for next time.

Don’t have Sims 2 yet, but in TOS (The Original Sims), ghosts can’t climb stairs. So if your bedroom’s on the second floor and all the tombstones/urns are on the ground floor, you have no worries of being bothered by ghosts, at least while asleep. I have no clue how ghosts work in Sims 2, though.
