Correction, my Sim is engaged to Chloe Single, not Erin. Both Single women were in the house at the same time last night.
A couple of interesting things tonight. The first is that though she accepted the proposal, Chloe is afraid of being tied to Joanie. And though I sent Erin home before Joanie asked Chloe to move in with her, I find today that Erin moved in too. A one bedroom, 3/4 bath house is kind of small. Especially since only Joanie and Chloe are willing to share the double bed together. Erin either has to sleep while they’re awake or take short naps on the couch.
Got rid of the taxis in front of the Curious house by using the move objects cheat. But still can’t get them a car to go to work. Looking at the official Sims site, it looks like a bug in the program, others are having that problem with that house. I wasn’t worried as I was just going to do the money cheat, but I didn’t think of their kid missing school because it can’t get on the school bus, which has happened to one player. Guess I’ll have to stop playing that house until a patch comes out.
Has anyone else tried putting houses way up on the hill by the bridge in Pleasantview?
I had put a Will Wright rock up there to look out over the city (something for the little sims to worship ) and was wondering about it, so the next family made, I bought a house and moved them up there.
While in the game mode, you can tell they live on a cliff, but like all other properties, the view fades out in the distance. Still a cool effect.
Does anyone know how to add your own music to the game? The manual said just put your MP3s in the music folder under the Sims2 folder, but I don’t have a music folder. The closest thing I’ve found is a “sounds” folder, but adding stuff there doesn’t do anything. Any ideas?
Rumor has it that the designers were inspired by Donnie Darko. The social bunny apparently only appears when a sim’s social need is way down and they’re alone.
Don Lothario managed to woohoo both the maid and Nina Caliente within eight hours (hot tub and bed, respectively), but then had to sleep because his energy bars were down. Any self-respecting Romance aspiring sim would be ashamed of his lack of fortitude.
Especially my Snoop; He slung it to one in the morning, kicked her out so he could tag the maid, and then invited another one over for some afternoon horizontal tango.
<luda> He’s a ho. Ho!
I said that he’s a ho! </luda>
I’m really enjoying the little things that the sims do on their own. One of my teen-aged sims started flirting with her boyfriend on the porch just as her mother came outside with the trash. The mom dropped the trash, put her hands over her face, and shook her head. The tag on the little action picture was “be embarrassed”.
One of the other sims randomly decided to take a newspaper with him to the bathroom too.
My only problem so far is the lack of sports things to buy. I wish I could send the sims to play basketball or volleyball for exercise like in the original game.
I’ve noticed that when the Sims go idle and are trying to decide the next thing to do, they look up at you (the player) as if they’re waiting for instructions.
And when I’ve been having one Sim put the moves on another one with a long chain of flirting, backrubs, hugging, etc., occasionally they’ll stop in the middle of it, look at me, and do the “oh yeah!” or thumbs-up gesture.
Also: you’ve got to watch out for the quiet ones, apparently. I moved one of the pre-made families, the “Burbs” into a house in the neighborhood just to have more people around other than those obnoxious Pleasants and Calientes. I had finally gotten my two guys to agree to a joined union (grrr…) and there was no ceremony but they seemed happy enough, and then John Burb comes over and ruins everything. Everybody falls in love with him, it breaks up two marriages, all are miserable. The romance aspiration is deadly.
And for this, he must die…MwahahahahAHAHAHA!
On a lighter note, I thought for sure my first sim, Betty, was about to kick the bucket from old age. She stopped what she was doing, the camera centered on her, she looks scared and gasps!
I pause the game, drag my husband into witness the first sim death of Pleasantview, resumed the game…Only to find out she had over ate and was now fat.
Has anyone found any unusual “chained actions?” So far, I’ve been able to lounge on the couch and watch TV; I’ve had several options when relaxing on the bed; I’ve seen a few others, too.
By the way, I have one eensy weensy complaint about the game. There are very few “double check” prompts for some major things. Accidentally call the adoption agency (and meet all the criteria) and you’ve got a new kid - there’s no “Would you like to adopt a child?” or “Are you sure” prompt.
There is another one, a more major one not related to gameplay - the deletion of a family. I was doing it on purpose, so it was not an issue, but it never asked me if I was sure I wanted to delete this family.
I am one of the people who bitches and moans about things prompting you a million times (are you really REALLY sure? [Yes] Are you absolutely positive??..) but some major options really ought to have some way of confirming that it’s what you want to do.
There are some other examples, but I can’t think of them at the moment.
My biggest complaint is that you can’t find guests by right clicking on them.
So, what needs to be incorporated in to expansion packs? I think there will be a superstar one because that career track is not there.
I think there needs to be a way to get townie teens and children to grow up. This is maddening to a lot of gamers.
Objects on diagonals would be huge.
Pets and growing food would be good too.
There needs to be more datey things.
I’d like to do networking, so that I could play one family and KellyM could play another at the same time.
Someone mentioned that it would be cool to move tombs to commercial lots. You could have a town cemetary. It would be interesting to have funerals.
I want a pool slide, spiral and curved stairs, and more doors and windows.
I imagine there will be as an add on or part of an EP a way to make/recolor wallpaper/floors or add color options to existing objects.
Whoever was asking about whether you can safely have your sims cheat on each other, be forewarned: be careful about how much they do, because apparently Woohoo is very, very loud.
I had one of my Sims upstairs, husband was downstairs making dinner. John Burb (the man-slut) wandered upstairs into the bathroom and autonomously started flirting with him. Okay, I admit I had “encouraged” the two of them during a previous game, when John’s romance aspiration kept telling me he needed to kiss somebody. So anyway, they’re in the bathroom giving each other the eye, so I figure what the hell.
I put them both in the bed while husband is still making dinner, blissfully unaware of the sordid goings-on upstairs. After a single session of “Make-out,” they were over the top and “Woohoo” became available. Of course, they’ve just got to do it at this point. I’d hate for my sims to get a case of the virtual blue-balls, as it were. Of course, they’re not even partway into it when all of a sudden the husband bursts in the door, drags them out of bed and starts slapping John around. He goes around to the other side of the bed, yells at the other guy, then runs off crying. Broken wedding rings spinning over everyone’s head. It’s all very sad.
And John Burb just walks off with a simple “Bye.”
So if you’re planning on having a cheating sim (which seems all but necessary with the Shameless Slut Aspiration – I mean Romance Aspiration) then you should do it while the wife/husband is away at work.
I’m sorry - make that spouse awake anywhere on the lot.
Question: once in a while my Sims’ plumbobs will lose their crystal shape and just be little glowing orbs over their heads. It doesn’t affect all Sims at the same time, so I don’t know if it’s an indication of something, or just some weird glitch?
Also, I just found out what meditating is for. That would have been useful to know sooner!!
