I’m sort of ashamed to admit that I dated an Angela-from-The-Office-clone*. Great looking, but she rarely put out. She considered herself the queen bee of our work group, was hated by most of our female coworkers, and generally had a stick up her butt.
*I suppose that makes me either a Dwight or an Andy…yikes!
I dated an exact clone of Kim Kelly from Freaks and Geeks for a while in High School. Exact family dynamic, mean, loud, aggressive, partier, crazy as a shithouse rat, but deep down really insecure and sweet. Her family moved and I never heard from her again.
When I was in high school, I knew a girl who was a brunette and less-annoying version of Diane Chambers from “Cheers”. We went on one informal date during a debate tournament. She was two years older than me and I’ll admit I had a real bad crush on her.
It’s wrong that this woman sounds attractive to me, right? (Of course, my first two celebrity crushes were Darlene Conner and Wednesday Addams so I guess Kim Kelly makes sense too.)
Not exactly a sit-com, but I dated a girl very similar to Fred from Angel. Nerdy, quirky/weird (to the point of some of us just going “huh?” to things she says,) and she even looks a bit like her.
I dated Donna from That 70s Show. Actually, I was a college freshman, and she was a senior in high school, but we had been part of the same gang my senior year in high school. We had a Hyde, a Jackie, a Kelso, and even a Fez.
A couple of months ago, I met Hyde and Jackie’s son, a college senior who was interning in my office. Jeeze, I’m old.
I read this thinking about Beetle Bailey, and in my mind thought “What the hell is wrong with that person? Well, actually, Beetle was kind of cute. Oh God, what is wrong with ME??”
I had a few dates with a Chandler too, though I’d say he was just as funny, and possibly a little less insecure. He was a good guy, but there was just no chemistry.
I used to be married to Saffron from Absolutely Fabulous, and I once made the grievous mistake of calling her “Saffy”. Eddie and Patsy were nowhere in sight, though.
