Six Degrees of Star Trek

You all know the routine. Go from one actor to another. Start with a Star Trek actor. Once you’ve solved one, post yours.

Shatner to Tom Cruise.

Shatner was in “National Lampoon’s Loaded Weapon” with Emilio Estevez

Estevez was in “The Outsiders” with Cruise

George Takei to Elvis Presley

George Takei appeared on a segment of Bob Hope Presents the Chrysler Theatre with Bob Hope

Bob Hope worked with Ann-Margret in Bob Hope’s Overseas Christmas Tours

Ann-Margret starred in Viva Las Vegas with Elvis Presley

Nichelle Nichols and Chloe Sevigny

Nichelle was in Snow Dogs with Cuba Gooding Jr.
Cuba Gooding Jr was in Radio with Ed Harris
Ed Harris was in Apollo 13 with Bill Paxton
Bill Paxton was in Big Love with Chloe Sevigny

How about Dominic Keating to Samuel L Jackson

Astorian: You did it more quckly than I could have! Nicely done.

Dominic Keating starred on Enterprise

Stephen Culp made numerous (and simultaneous) guest appearances on Enterprise and The West Wing, starring John Spencer

John Spencer and Samuel Jackson were both featured in Sea of Love

Grace Lee Whitney and Scarlett Johansson

Tough one:

Grace Lee Whitney was on one episode of Gunsmoke on which Burt Reynolds had a recurring role.

Burt was in Dukes of Hazzard with Johnny Knoxville.

Johnny had a small role in Coyote Ugly with Jack McGee also in a small role.

Jack was in The Man Who Wasn’t There with Scarlett.
Leonard Nimoy and John Wayne

Nimoy was in The Cage with Jeffrey Hunter.

Jeffrey Hunter was in The Searchers with John Wayne.

Nichelle Nichols to Jack Nicholson.

Nichelle Nichols to Jack Nicholson. -->

Nichelle was in Snow Dogs with Cuba Gooding Jr.
Cuba Gooding Jr. was in Jerry Maguire with Tom Cruise
Cruise was in A Few Good Men with Jack Nicholson

Gates McFadden to Jodie Foster

Too late, but George Takei was in The Green Berets with Wayne, and of course TOS with Nimoy.

William Shatner and Humphrey Bogart.

McFadden was in The Hunt for Red October with Alec Baldwin (playing Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ryan).
Baldwin and Tom Skerritt in Path to War (playing Macnamara and Westmoreland).
Skerritt and Foster in Contact (playing whoever it is they were playing - I wasn’t paying much attention).

Bogart and Gig Young (The Desperate Hours)
Young and Kareen Abdul-Jabbar (Game of Death)
Abdul-Jabbal and Robert Hays or Julie Haggarty or Lloyd Bridges or Chuck Connors or Peter Graves or Stephen Stucker (Airplane!)
Hays (or one of the others listed above) and Shatner (Airplane II: The Sequel)

Try W.C. Fields and Robin Curtis.

Wil Wheaton and Rudolph Valentino

Cuba Gooding Jr. was also in A Few Good Men. He was one of the soldiers testifying that Kendrick ordered the men not to touch the kid who later died.

Whoops, I just linked WC Fields to himself. Please ignore!

Okay: Robin Curtis was in Ghost Story with Fred Astaire.

Fred Astaire was in The Ziegfeld Follies, featuring Lucille Ball

Lucille Ball was a guest on The Bob Hope Show

Bob Hope was in The Big Broadcast of 1938 with WC Fields

All the actors acted with Frank Gorshin in Last Battefield.
Gorshin acted with Adam West in Batman
Adam West acted with my daughter in Pete and Pete
My daughter always acted up with me

Wil Wheaton co-starred on TNG with Whoopi Goldberg

Whoopi was featured in Beverly Hills Brats with Ruby Keeler

Ruby was in **42nd Street **with Bebe Daniels

Bebe Daniels starred with Valentino in Monsieur Beaucaire

Walter Koenig to Grace Kelly, without going through other Trek actors

I was just going for Elisha Cook, Jr. who played Kirk’s attorney, Cogley also played Wilmer in The Maltest Falcon with Bogart.

Meh, I thought the point was not to use a Trek film or TV show, just whatever non-Trek credits a Trek actor might have.

Besides, once you involve TV shows, it becomes too easy. Consider how many guest stars there were on T.J. Hooker, for example. Also, Shatner was in episodes of Columbo and Twilight Zone meaning you can easily link him through Peter Falk or Rod Serling to hundreds of others. I prefer using movies.

You mean there were people on T.J. Hooker besides young Heather Locklear? I hadn’t noticed.
