Six Feet Under 4/28 - Anyone? Anyone?

Was everybody busy watching A PAINTED HOUSE on CBS last night so they missed SIX FEET UNDER? How come no thread til now? Oh, well. . .
I thought it was an interesting episode. I liked how Brenda called Lisa on her little trip to the spa.
I thought the art show was interesting. . . and I’m still trying to figure out the significance of Olivier buying Russell’s sculpture and then Russell buying Claire’s piece under an assumed name. In my mind, it kind of means “I own you” to the person who’s doing the buying.
Nothing good is going to happen with Vanessa and the freebie pills her nurse friend so freely piled into her little container.
Caught both Nate and Federico getting the guilties over the man arranging for his ex-friend’s funeral. Could THEIR women do the same thing??? You bet! (It’s a perfect out for Lisa!)
David and Keith? I feel so bad for David. He really hates these three-way episodes but he’s too afraid of losing Keith to really say so. Maybe it’s time for him to move on. I see this relationship as one big Power Trip for Keith. What’s David really getting out of it?
Ruth and Arthur? Harold and Maude. He is too weird for words. I keep hoping some age-appropriate gentleman would step in and sweep Ruth off her feet, but I don’t think that’s going to happen on this show. Or in my lifetime. . . .
The Chenowith family? Billy doesn’t scare me any more like he did in Season One. Brenda just seems so sad all the time. And the Mom is a piece of work! She and Olivier deserve each other and the STDs that probably come with them.
Just a small rant. . . .

DAMN! I missed it last night. Too busy arguing with ** Miss Fried [B\] and forgot all about it…DAMN!
Does anyone know if there is a repeat showing?

I **SUCK[b\] at coding…arrg.

For the first time I saw that Lisa and Nate could actually work as a couple, which in my mind means something horrible is gonna happen now that they look like they might be happy together.

Brenda accidentally interrupting Nate & Lisa in the pyramid was pretty symbolic to me, how she’s always getting between them for some reason. Also note that final shot, with Nate & Lisa sitting close together but Brenda is still there, off to one side.

Yeah, David needs to leave Keith and maybe get with the nice guy he was chatting with in that bar.

And I totally think Oliver has the hots for Russel and eventually something will happen between the two of them and Claire will be pretty hurt by it. It’ll be just like what happened with Billy - “a sex thing, not a gay thing”.

How scary is this - Billy looks like the mentally stable and healthy one at the moment!

Best line heard on television all week, “Well, I could do it for you, if you’ve seen enough of Mom’s pussy for a while.”

I laughed so hard, I didn’t hear any of Brenda’s response. I guess that’s why I love this show – it appeals to my sick and twisted sense of humor.

Would anyone care to fill me in on what she said in response to that? Did I miss an even better line, or was that really the Line of the Week?

Yeah, David is getting tired of the three ways already (too bad) and Keith is getting into it more and more…not a good sign.

There’s gonna be wedding bells for Ruth and Arthur at some point, trust me…

I am sure there is a scene coming up with Claire walking in on Russell and Oliver in an awkward moment…maybe they will be with Keith and David in one happy foursome?

Lisa is still certifiable and my prognosis is this has simply delayed the inevitable. Brenda will be back in the picture soon enough…she isn’t getting paid to sit in the background.

All in all a good episode…and yes, there is a repeat, though I am not exactly sure when…go to Showtime.com and see the schedule (I think it is tonight?!).

Something to the effect of “Now how could a person ever see enough of mom’s pussy? It’s like a trip down memory lane.”

Happy

Ooops!

That should be HBO.com…I doubt Showtime would have much to tell you about Six Feet Under.

Hijack ahead! It was a good episode, but I mostly just wanted to pop in here to say that the nurse who gave the pills to Vanessa was played by my very good friend Michelle. Yay, Michelle! In real life, she hooks me up with free drugs, as well… caffeine, that is. She’s the manager of a Starbucks and gives me lots of free coffee. End of hijack.

I do wonder if David and Keith are going to make it through this latest thing. They’ve always been teetering on the edge, so, I dunno… I like Keith, but I’m not thinking these two were really meant to be together.

I do hope Ruth and Arthur hook up. What a great, odd couple they’d make.

LOL I swear, I looked at Mr.Siberia and said "Now there’s a phrase I never thought I’d hear. We were cracking up. I too missed Brenda’s response.

Keith is a real creep nowadays. If I were David, I’d leave him in a heartbeat. He’s not worth all the discomfort.

Ruth and Arthur still give me the willies. Bring back Kathy Bates.

replay Monday 10pm HBO2.

This week’s SFU had my head spinning. My usual reaction to each couple was turned around:

I actually liked Nate and Lisa. I was sure there was no chance for them, but now, I’m not sure. And Lisa didn’t bug me half as much as usual. It looked like she and Nate were making headway in their relationship.

I found Ruth and Arthur kinda cute. When she was stalking him, I was disappointed and kinda disgusted, but now that it’s reciprocal, I’m not hating the storyline so much. I do wish they would ease up on the quirk factor just a tad, though.

I’m beginning to root for a breakup between Keith and David, which is something I never expected. David seems unhappy but unable to express it, so they’re close to kaput. I don’t find Keith to be a creep, but I think he’s not looking for the same type of relationship that David is. Then again, Keith doesn’t get subtlety at all – how could he not have seen that David didn’t want another 3way yet, if ever?

And finally, I liked Claire and Russell, but Russell seems to be next in line as Olivier’s boytoy, so oh well. Can any character have a healthy relationship for more than one episode? Nah, I guess that wouldn’t be as fun to watch.

If I remember the preview for next week correctly, it doesn’t last long.

Anamorphic, congrats to your friend Michelle for her role on SFU! Now giving the pills to Vanessa was a bad idea <tm>, though, and bad will come of it, mark my words (and the preview for next week! :D).

I’m starting to think that maybe Lisa is suffering from post-partum depression, on top of being at least a little crazy already. I was surprised that it appeared she and Nate had worked things out. I too got the feeling that Lisa and/or Vanessa could go the suicide route, unfortunately. :frowning:

Ruth and Arthur are actually starting to make sense as a couple to me although I can understand the “EWW” factor for others. They’re both oddballs, but seem to come across to me as matching up with each other very well, despite the age difference. Arthur is definitely a virgin, at least IMHO.

How weird is this art prof Olivier going to get?! LOL Everyone that Claire has talked to about him seems to have been involved in a sexual fling with him! Don’t get me started about Mrs. Chenowith, geesh! Joanna Cassidy is perfection in the role, though. Billy and Brenda seem to be the most balanced folks on the show right now, and that is a scary thought!

David and Keith – where is this relationship headed?! Keith seems to be slipping down the slope… into the menage a trois thing, getting high… and David seems to be genuinely attracted to the guy from the Gay Men’s Chorus, the one he had a thing with at the Sears store. I think that the ground rules the therapist was talking about involved safety, and not just safe sex–I’m sensing that someone they pick up might end up robbing them or worse. :frowning:

Really liked the episode last night and am looking forward to next week.

I was disappointed that Russell confessed to having had sexual encounters with Olivier. (Did that really happen, or did I mishear something?)

Not that there’s anything wrong with that per se. But I so wanted to see the nice, quiet, considerate, slightly goofy looking guy…not turn out to be gay (or maybe gay).

You misheard. He said Olivier probably bought his sculpture as some sort of “ownership” thing, but he never said/admitted they had had any kind of sexual relationship - although he never really denied it either. Clair is simply putting 2 + 2 together, with the Billy history and now Russell…

Was it just my imagination, or did Arthur ahem… spank his monkey while lying on the bed next to Ruth?
Also, when Billy and Brenda were goofing around, at his apartment, there seemed to be IMO a foreshadowing of … dark secrets, shall we say. As I remember, last season when Nate acused Brenda of having ‘relations’ with Billy, she didn’t deny it. She just said something like “Oh, go there why don’t you.”

I didn’t get that impression at all.

Arthur is such a great character. “Might I remove my glasses?” - That might be as sexy as his pillow talk gets. And in the preview, I remember him having a typically quirky response to a rather direct question from Ruth (although I can’t remember the quote).

That’s exactly what I thought was happening when Mr. Tall Skinny Guy was getting dressed. . . that he was going through wallets or something. This is not good!
