Six hours of Super Bowl pre-game--anybody watch the whole thing?

As usual, there were more than six hours of pre-game programming before the Super Bowl started. Did anybody watch all of that?

I had the TV on since about 11 CST. I didn’t really “watch” it all though.

Nope, I usually ignore it. I tuned in right before the national anthem and they’re still dragging it out.

Old poll and thread bumped for tomorrow’s Superb Owl.

If you want to start your party early, it’s something you can put on the TV to have background noise. You’re probably not actively watching it, though.

If you watched all six hours of the pre-game, you would be so burnt out on football by the time the game started.

I stopped watching football a few years back, so when I read the OP, referring to the pre-game programming in the past tense, I thought, “did they finally do the sensible thing and move it to Saturday?” Because a Superbowl party just ends too damn late when you’ve got to drag your butt into work the next morning.

Then I noticed the date on the OP.

This.

When I was a kid and back when there had only been 25 or so Super Bowls played up to that point, I used to watch the Super Bowl marathon that would start at something like 6 in the morning and go all the until right before kickoff. But kinda hard to do with 50 games behind us. I miss the Sabols and NFL films.

I barely tolerate the game anymore and unless the ads have dogs in them, I don’t care about them either. More and more the pre-game and half-time shows remind me of the Hunger Games.

The game has become too much of a spectacle. I know I’m probably in the minority, but the playoffs and the NFL have been completely over-marketed and over-sold. It’s lost a lot of its real nostalgic appeal to fake nostalgia (throw back uniforms suck by the way) and marketing campaigns with pink cleats. Don’t get me wrong - breast cancer awareness is a good campaign but there’s just too much gimmickry these days. I also can’t stand Roger Goodell with his fake piety, going after athletes when they embarrass him somehow and then allowing franchises to screw over small to mid-sized markets like St Louis, Oakland, and San Diego. It’s becoming nothing but a corporate league.

There is footie on Telemundo…great match between Man City v Swansea with Man U v Leicester next. Then off to the other footie. What a great day of sport.

I’ll be watching the Puppy Bowl, it’s a lot more fun.

May the refs be forever in your favor!

My wife woke me up at 3:00am for anal sex, so I’m napping on and off while the pregame is on.

And my butt hurts.

Brady you should be warming up buddy.

I love people who give till it hurts.

I don’t watch the entire game let alone the entire pre-game. To many other things including both the Puppy and Kitten Bowls.
