I have no idea of what it is like to overcome something like alcoholism or how it can run your life, but anyone who can beat any addiction ( be it drinking, drugs, smoking, gambling, sex, spending, or overcome their own personal mountain) is someone that impresses me greatly. To publically tell everyone before acheiving this feat, is ballsy: to acheive it is sheer determination.
Be proud of yourself. You deserve it!

Congratulations Scott! My father is a recovering alcoholic. Pickled himself for 25 years. A few years ago, he was in a bad car accident because he’d been drinking. I guess that was the wake up call that he needed because he quit drinking. My mother says he’s a different man. I’m proud of him for recognizing his problem and doing something about it. And seeing what my dad went through I can tell you with all sincerity that I’m proud of you too. Keep it up!
