I don’t think not endorsing a bigoted viewpoint is the same as destroying bigots.
For example, if Chik-fil-A reversed its position and decided to stop funding hate groups, I think bigots would still eat at Chik-fil-A. They wouldn’t be destroyed, they’d still be able to enjoy Chik-fil-A’s delicious yet supremacist-supporting food.
Not endorsing a viewpoint that a certain class of people are biological mistakes (or evil/sinful, take your pick… whichever is the current excuse for mistreating them) is not the same as destroying people who hold such a viewpoint.
I don’t see the hypocrisy here.
While endorsing such a viewpoint will indeed turn off persons who don’t subscribe to such a worldview.
As for the bigots themselves- if they want to throw away all their Nike’s because Nike doesn’t support gay bashing, I couldn’t begin to care. There will come a day when there won’t be a shoe seller or other retailer willing to endorse their viewpoint outside of Saudi Arabia.
It’s why it’s so amusing to me that they hate fundy Muslims so much. I mean, they’re practically identical.
