Sleeping in, a sunriseless MMP

I cleared a path from the front door to Mrs. L.A.‘s RAV4. She’ll have to get the snow off of it herself. It has 4WD, so she can back out of the driveway. The snow is cleared off of the Prius, and it’s been warmed up. It ain’t goin’ anywhere though. There’s no way it can back out through the snow. I swept the snow off of the Jeep’s windows and warmed it up. Then I mashed a path with it so the mail truck can reach the mailbox. I think I’ll take a lunch break, put some pants on, and go get Mrs. L.A. some soup.

So you were outside clearing snow in your skivies?!?!?

Since there is no evidence that you are teenage or a mutant, I am skeptical…

Just completed my taxes (or in this case, TurboTax completed them as I entered the data) and sent them off electronically to the Feds and Ali-bama. Should get a fairly hefty chunk of change back, which beats last year when I converted my Mutual fund to an Annuity and had to pay capital gains…ouch. This year should just about pay for my planned vacation. Of course, if the Gub’mint shuts down again…

Dishes are washed and lunch consumed. All is right with the world.

Sunny, hope Beamette is doing better…and Beamer’s cold doesn’t get any worse.

Juliet, if you want to live in Wisconsin, ya gotta pay your dues…:stuck_out_tongue:

Shady, hope the living arrangements settle down, and if I may ask, what do you and LA County have to discuss?

Johnny, way too much information…:p:cool: And let me get this straight–did you clean and clear the paths and cars outside and then put your pants on?

The east facing wall in the master bedroom of our new abode is mostly windows, so the gathering light of daybreak generally wakes me up (this time of year that happens 'bout 7:15ish most mornings 'round here). I’ve been fortunate enough to see some quite exquisite ones in the last few weeks! I have taken some pics, but don’t have an online site to post them - y’all’s loss!

Oh, yeah, I’m a bad-ass! :stuck_out_tongue:

Actually, I was in my telecommuting attire – jammies.

Ancient and Honorable Order of Turtles

I took the hummingbird feeder in once to thaw, and I’ve just brought it in again for same.

I swept the deck where snow drifted in overnight, and put out a pie tin with some bird seed in it. We’ve had a couple of sparrows (one of them rather plump), and a couple of chickadees.

Well, it’s not morning, but I made it! It’s been one of those days. FCD’s procedure was fine, but while we were there, daughter had to take SIL to the Dr, and then to the hospital for some tests. Since we were close, she brought Roxy to us and I did the grandmother thing till 3-ish when they finally got back. (Doc’s couldn’t figure out why SIL keeps getting dizzy.)

I had a chance to do a little design modification for FCD, then I threw together a meh-ish supper. Daughter has class, SIL is playing hooky tonight and tending to Roxy. I’m doing my morning intrarwebz surfing this evening. I’ll be glad to get back to work to relax a bit.

These days, I don’t see the sun rise - I’m in a windowless office at the appointed hour. In the summer, I’m sometimes blinded by it as I’m heading to work. Weekends I’m either lying abed or busy inside, so I don’t see the sun come up.

When we used to sail a lot, I’d love to get up early, especially when we were at anchor, and sit on deck, watching the day start. It’s been years since I did that. On our last cruise, I was up for sunrise a few times, but no photos, not that it matters - I’m a lousy photographer.

Anyway, Happy Moanday!

This time of year, the sun is rising about the time I’m taking a shower.

When I camped, I used to enjoy sitting outside in a lawn chair with a cup o’ joe and watch the sun come up. I especially enjoyed that in the mountains.

Supper has been consumed. Also talked to brother and he is doing well, in various therapies, but still not allowed to drive and you can hear him grasping for a particular word now and then, something he never used to do. I’ll probably go up there for a couple days next week to get an eyes-on view, but sounds like he’s recovering nicely.

FCM, hope SIL finds out the reasons for being dizzy…lots of things can cause that. Just keeping up with you would do me in…

Otherwise life is good.

Well it was one hell of a birthday. the canes lost(in part thanks to the refs sponsored by the New Jersey Mafia). Then I had to go down to the jail with a lady friend of mine, to bail out her roommate. And then one of the motion sensors at work tripped at 0230m, so I got no sleep last night.:smack: At least I’m off tomorrow.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out and foggy (well, dark) with a predicted high of 77 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted for this afternoon. We shall see. Today is laundry day. I have a poke roast in the slow cooker. It shall get shredded and turned into bbq for tonight’s sup which shall be bbq sammiches, coleslaw and baked beans. Fart fest to follow. I have no intentions of leavin’ da cave today. Nowhere I need or want to be. Vestry meetin’ went well and we were out of there at seven-thirty last night. I was abed an hour later as I was tahrd.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

If this morning is any indication, it’s gonna be a lousy day.

I started out by whacking two of my toes on the bench at the end of our bed. It’s only been sitting there for years, dammit! I forgot to do the cat box yesterday, so it was extra full today. And it was raining, which makes for an annoying commute. And because I was running late, I didn’t get my parking spot, so I had to walk farther in the rain. Dammit.

It’s gotta get better, right?

Happy Tuesday, I guess… :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Toosday!

It’s raining, supposed to rain all day.
It’s only 32 degrees outside, so it’s freezing rain, but as it warms up it will be plain old rain.
Either way, I don’t have to go out and so I won’t.

My son will have to go out at some point and bring in the table. I’m not sure how water proof the cover on the bed of the truck is and I don’t want the table ruined.

Oh, yeah, my Medicare card came in the mail yesterday. And at the start of next year, I’ll be getting Social Security. Guess I’m getting old, huh?

Happy Tuesday. Weather report: still snowing. Supposed to get another foot by the end of the day. And it’s windy, blowing all of that stuff around.

Juliet Jr. has a snow day today (again). I think they’ve missed on average one day a week since they came back from winter break. There were a couple weeks with none, but another week with 3. But Romeo was scheduled to have today off, so he’s home with both of the kiddos. Cooped up inside in the snow. Not sure if I’d rather be him or rather be at work. It would be nice to have the day off, but those kids can get mighty squirrely.

Either way, I’m at work today. Trying to get answers to questions, trying to make sense of a massive machine. Such is the life.

I’m almost maybe a tiny bit looking forward to having Thursday afternoon off to go to the dentist. But then I remember that it’s the dentist and I am petrified of the dentist. But it’s only a cleaning… so not as scary?

It was a better day, today.

Inspired by the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, I had my kindergarten kids doing the stomp, stomp clap rhythm today in class while we practiced some English. Even four year old kids love that.

I can never remember: Is ‘supper’ lunch, or dinner?

Now that I’ve had (a totally inadequate amount of) caffeine, I’ve decided ‘supper’ is dinner. ISTR reading once, decades ago, that in some dialects lunch is called ‘dinner’ and dinner is called ‘supper’.

I don’t remember ever hearing anyone use ‘supper’ in real life; only in movies and such.
