Sleeping in in the MMP

Ahhh, Moanday, a day I get to ‘sleep in’…& go to irk??? 'Cept we’re getting deluged (1-2" of windy rain.

What do I mean by sleep in & go to irk? Sat alarm was 4am & Yestidy was 5am since I ended up spending the night at the old friend’s place I was hanging out with on Sat afternoon. Had to get up earlier on Sun (5 instead of 6), but had fun so it was worth it. This was the 4th (of 5) weeks where at least one day I have the alarm going off at 5am. Then we’ll get into ballooning season which means more early weekend mornings. The week before that, I drove almost 400 miles in one day going to two photo shoots & the two weekends before that I was away. That is why Moanday’s are for sleeping in & recovering & irk, cause my weekends sure aren’t!

Sat there were tons of people in Central Park, with dozens sunbathing, either shirtless (guys) or even in bikinis (gals). Yesterday I was back to wearing jacket, hat, & gloves as it was about 40° colder, windy, & sunless. Can someone check lost & found for Spring.

Didn’t retain, but did see we (kindasorta) have a new Mumper. Congrats, [del]FCM[/del] FCG? FCB? What do we call you now?

Pre-hijack: what’s your sleep in day?

First! It’s good to be juvenile!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! ‘Tis 43 Amurrkin out and clear, OK dark, with a predicted high of 63, windy and N.O.S. for the day. Then we warm up to the 80s. Spring be weird. Today I shall clean da cave. Rah. Bug guy also will show up around eight this mornin’. Tonight is men’s night over to the church house so beer is chillin’ and steaks are marinatin’.

Heh, I get to sleep in any day I want but am usually up by six a.m. Then again by ten p.m. I am usually snoozin’ away. Always been an early riser and have had jobs where I’d start irk at six a.m.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Moanday Y’all!

GMTA -I was contemplating an MMP on sleep/lack thereof!! I got a solid-ish 9 hours so I feel human again.

And thanks to my insistent internal clock, I pretty much never sleep in. FCD is snoring beside me and I’m wide awake.

I goofed yesterday - RoxStar was born at 11:15. Must set the record straight. We’re taking FCD’s folks to meet her today. And assuming nothing else weird happens, we’ll head home on Firday. No guarantees, tho, knowing how our lives go.

Happy Moanday, all!!

Happy Moonday!

It’s rainy and chilly outside, we had to turn the heat back on.

I woke up at 3:30 and never got back to sleep.
I see a nap coming soon.

I don’t have a sleep in day anymore. Used to be Moondays and Toosdays, then just Toosday, now I am starting irk at 6am everyday.
I’m going to try a new schedule to see if that helps.
I’m not scheduled to irk weekends, but I almost always wake up around the same time anyway.

Going to make shrimp for lunch/dinner, depending on when I have enough energy to put it all together.

Afternoon, mumpers! I have returned to my usual time zone but I’m still trying to catch up with myself after the 11-hour difference between home and NZ. For those who I’m friends with on farcebook, you’ve seen the pics, I had an amazing time and I did not want to come home. For the rest of you, I had an amazing time and I didn’t want to come home.

I work Mon-Fri so I don’t get a sleep-in day during the week as I’m normally up by 6.30am and out of the house an hour later. I save my sleep-in treat for the weekend although I have a gym class at 9am on Saturdays now so no sleeping in on that morning, and I may or may not get a lie-in on Sunday, depends on whether I have to get up early to drive over to my doting parent or not. And we have mogs, so I am liable to be disturbed by them because they have suddenly realised the bottom of one of the food bowls might just be visible, and that clearly means they’re dying of starvation.

I irk M-F and am up by 6am. Sometimes I sleep til 7:30 on the weekends, but consider myself a slug if I don’t get up 7. I don’t mind getting up early on the weekends cuz I can sit in my jammies, drink coffee, and whatever. Tis snowing and 27F. I wore my long down coat to irk. I’m getting tired of this. I’m sure the weather will go from this to 95 and hoomid in one day. Life in no. Illinois. sigh

The combination of being enslaved by Da Jungle, semi-retired, and the interests I have means I am a little (no surprise to regular Mumpers) odd. Every work day almost is my sleep in day as I usually don’t wake up until 8am and leave for work between noon and 4pm. On the weekends when I’m just doing “my things” I usually get up around 6am and hit the road by 8am or earlier. Today I am actually adulting much earlier than usual because I am doing a double but the normal Monday I ignore the alarm altogether and get active around 10am.

Big excitatement in da ‘hood! My next door neighbor is havin’ some trees cut down. Fascinatin’ to watch. The three biiiiiiiiiiig pine trees that are real close to her house are comin’ down. She’s wanted them down for some time because they are so close. Guess she finally got the $$$ to do so. Also, da cave is as spiffed as it’s gonna get right now. No sense in gettin’ too involved in cleanin’ until all the remodel is finished.

Took awhile to adjust to retirement, but I’m now staying in till about 7:30am, with occasional trips to 8:30am. The biggest change is that instead of going to bed about 9:30pm, which I’ve done consistently for decades, I now stay up until after 11pm most evenings. And naps are becoming more common, at least 1-2 a week.

The weekend rain chased all the warm away, it’s 39F outside the door and not supposed to get much above 50 today. It’s going (one hopes) to get warmer as the week goes along…we shall see.

boo fae, welcome home and I agree, New Zealand is one place I’d love to spend more time in, 7-8 days is simply not enough. South or North Island?

Weekdays I’m up with the sunbeams to get them off to school, so my sleep in days are the weekends.

It’s still raining. 40 degrees. Snowing in the foothills (and mountains). Where is there not precipitation? I’m guessing Florida.

Happy Moanday.

Eleven tornadoes in Arkansas over the weekend. The second latest freeze since 1879, the other being 19 April, 1983. I brought out the plants I Winter over inside last week, and had to bring them all back inside yesterday. The high Tuesday will be 80[sup]o[/sup].

I blame Obama. I mean, Trump.

Apparently my morning post got eaten.

I’m up at 5 on weekdays, and Gordie lets me sleep till 7 on days off(He’s not a morning person.)

Penny the dog has begun whinning early in the morning. Sometimes I think I hear her in the background noise.

Evenin’ all. Welcome back Boofae, though I’m not sure why you did
Being frustrated at stoopid skool stuff today; we have a dinky module with the aim of prep for next year’s big project, including stuff like what equipment we’ll need and risk assessment nonsense and it’s been really rushed. We have to submit it all on Thursday, and we have had literally no mention of what we’re supposed to be putting on the form for some bits, especially the risk assessment.

The form says to refer to another form for advice on what to fill in, that form has advice for the first few bits (the bits she went through in class) then by the time it gets to the bits we didn’t cover in class it’s just a blank form, identical to the first, formception style. The closest thing to instructions are that we have to check the information we’ve filled in against the college safety guidelines, which are on the internal file sharing network, but we don’t have an internal file sharing network…

Did I say we need to submit it by Thursday? Oh, and we need to get it checked and signed first by the course leader (who’s saying he wants a hard copy to check and sign, but the final form has to be submitted online). Before you shake your heads and tut at me for procrastinating, we only got the final information to finalise what the project will be on the last day before we broke up for Easter…

Oh, and we have another test on Thursday.

The tree guys have done an amazin’ job next door. I know where the trees were because, well, I live next door, but if one was drivin’ by for the first time I don’t think it would be noticeable that trees have been cut down. I have been very entertained today. I shall head on over to the church house in a little while to get things started for this evenin’. Lookin’ forward to that as always.

Yup, fascinatin’ to watch.

Put them together & you get To 'bama. In other words…road trip.

Back from the hospital. The great grandparents have met RoxStar! (Love that nick!!!)

Now We’re chillin before supper. It’s tahred.

Congratulations! Yay! Such happy news!

Having a martini. Baked Fried chicken for dinner tonight. But back to work tomorrow.

Welcome back, PatPat!

I fried some fritters with grated mostly parsnips, broccoli, cauliflower, onion, carrots and garlic. I thought they were OK, Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) liked them.
