Sleeping in in the MMP

Happy to be here, but there’s really nothing to see, so move along !

Brrrrr! It was 38F when I went to irk and is only 43F now. In the middle of freakin’ April!! In the mid south!!! Oy! Like metal mouse’s neighborhood, it’s supposed to get up in the 70s tomorrow.

To answer the OP, most weekends, I get one sleep in day, depending on what’s happening. Most weekend mornings, I’m up between 7 and 8 am. That’s a long way from when I was in college or working odd shifts and/or more than one job.

Glad the great-grands got to see the babby, Mom

Re: the OP:

Way too many mornings I got up at 5:30 to go into Portland to work and usually didn’t get home until Jeopardy was on.

Nowadays I stay up till after Stephen or Jimmy’s monologue, and sleep in until the dogs get me up, usually around 7:00, but many times I go back to bed and sleep until I wake up.

I likes retirement.

So Flytrap, why is Penny whining? I hope she’s ok.

Wifey is on Weight Watchers again so tonight Ima try making sketties with zucchini noodles instead of pasta. We got one of those spirializer thingees a while back and had lots of fun with it for awhile. I hope I can find it again.

Howdy Y’all! Home from men’s night over to the church house. 'Twas a good time as usual. I am peeved because the trash did not get picked up today. Thus there shall be a very polite but irate phone call to the county. I am sure the situation will be resolved. I’ve gone through this in the past and have always won. I foresee a credit plus trash pick up in my near future. Yes I do expect my trash to be picked up when it should be and do expect compensation when it is not picked up when it should be. I can and will fight THE MAN!

Despite there being no rain for 36 hours and the sun being out most of the day, the Parks and rec folks closed the fields for practice today. Look, I know overuse + muddy fields can wreck things and cost money to fix, but I went by the park about noon and the fields were in great shape, firm and no water on them. Sometimes I think the Parks program is run by someone who would really prefer no one ever used the fields because then they wouldn’t get worn out. (Sorry for the rant, but this has happened one time to many).

Temps still in the 50’s, went to BJ’s and had a burger and beer (very rare occurrence for me) so stomach is full and happy.

Interneting and Basketball will provide the evening’s entertainment.

Take care, y’all.

I skipped/missed lunch so I was stahvink as we drove back to Ocala. Supper was “clean out the fridge” so a weird but filling mish-mash. I’m afghaning while FCD helps his folks sort out their meds before their Dr appts tomorrow, but I plan to crash soon.

Roxy should be cleared to go home tomorrow. We’ll go over on Thurs to get the stuff We’re taking back, and we’ll leave Fl on Firday. I’ll be glad to get home.

Mrs. Plant (v.2.0) often said that.
She was a money stealing bitch.
You watch your language. :dubious:

She wants me to let her out of her crate at an un G-dly hour of the morning so that she may disgrace herself on the carpet.

Were you gone?

bumba, I’ve found that with the zoodles, you want to roll them up in a kitchen towel to get the moisture out and ever so lightly heat them in a non stick skillet. I let the sauce be the heat of the dish. I’ve spiralized zucchini (the Mexican variety works best), sweet potatoes, English cucumbers, beets, carrots (gotta go for the fatties) and butternut squash (there’s a lot of that squash that you have to use for something else because the neck doesn’t spiralize well) and like most of them. My gadget has a wide blade that is mor like thinly slicing, a wide noodle blade and a skinny noodle blade. I use the slicer for cuke salads or to slice apples for dehydrating.

You should let her out of the house when she whines. She’ll get a UTI if she always has to hold it in. Lord knows I feel your pain. Pooka bear has been getting me up 2-3 times a night for a while.

And also this - grabs rolled up newspaper, whacks flytrap - Please ignore him PatPat. Welcome back.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 42 Amurrkin out with clear skies with a predicted high of 75 and N.O.S. for the day. Laundry is the big chore of the day. The bathroom remodel is slowly but surely comin’ along. That will also be goin’ on throughout the day. We shall sup upon Stouffer’s lasagna, sallit, and cheesey garlic bread. I also need to pay a couple of bills and do some bankin’ which can all be done online.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.

I’m up but I don’t want to be. The bed here kills my back - I miss my memory foam. So while the household sleeps, I’m in a recliner hoping the achy muscles relax.

I need to do some laundry today, and we’ll probably go to the drag racing museum - rah. Waiting to hear that daughter and granddaughter are going home. And counting the hours till Firday.

Happy Wednesday!!!

The delusion has started, it’s Tuesday.
Yes, I had to check.

Blurf.

Def’nitely.

Still feeling totally washed out, bad enough that I’m skiving off irk tonight; it’s nearly an hour’s drive away and not supposed to finish til 10, and though I’d probably be OK for the actual irk, I don’t think I’d be in a fit state to get back. I think I need to take my brain out and plug it in or something.

Still know what day it is though

Yes, I just found out it’s really Tuesday. I hadn’t caffeinated when I posted earlier. This has been a discombobulated week. Daughter is waiting for the Dr to release them. In-laws are at Dr appts. We’re headed to Wal-Mart in a bit.

What a day already…

::Gets in line::
Gotta mail taxis today. Always owe local; a whooping $33 this year & TurboTax wants $25 to e-file state (I’m getting a small refund) so I always print that & mail it on the last day. I’m all for being green & saving the planet by doing it paperless but not at a $24ish dollar penalty. That’s just stoopit.

Well, this is a good morning; bright and sunny and headed for the mid-70’s F this afternoon, and I got an e-mail that my claim for home damage back in February has finally been approved and a nice fat check is headed my way. So now I can call the concrete folks and get my new front patio put in.

So maybe I should go back to bed before anything bad happens…
