Slogans to protest a horse slaughter

I have to be quick, else I’ll be late for church. But to make a long story short, check out 9News.com and look for the video on horse slaughter.

This wack-job is a wretched individual who owns 24 horses and his property is an absolute shit hole. He was warned by Weld county to clean it up or else there would be repercussions. Of course he didn’t clean it up, because it’s his constitutional right or something to live in a shithole. What he did instead, was leave a voice mail to the county offices stating that he would kill a horse a day on the county court steps. He would begin by stabbing a mare 3-4 times in the belly, then bash either the mare’s or the aborted or cut out foals brains out. What a charmer.

Then he took it a step further and sent out flyers looking for rifle marksmen/sharp shooters to help him execute the 24 horses. Oh, and at the end of the flyer, he has his phone number so people can contact him about hosting a teabag party.

Weld County Sherriff has stated that anyone that shoots one of the animals will be subject to arrest for animal cruelty. Big whoop. He was out on bail for an assault charge, but his bondsperson revoked his bond when he was 40 minutes late for court, yet someone else obviously bailed him out. And so he was on the news again this morning, in person to tell us all he was going forward with his plans.

By the way, you can google this wretch, Trenton H. Parker and he has a mighty long record of arrests, running for the senate and conspiracy insanity.

So, I plan on being there with signs. Hopefully, I can get more people, but if not, be there I will no matter what.

But I want to mock this son-of-a bitch and his vomitious cronies that might show. I’m making tin foil hats to offer up for free. Some ideas I came up with were “What’s a Tea baggers idea of the perfect hunt? Shooting a trusting pet!”, “Trenton, bubbie…join the Taliban, they let you shoot tame PEOPLE!” “Guns don’t kill tame horses, Teabagging knuckle draggers with guns kill tame horses.”

Anyhow, I might not be able to respond and thank until later this evening or tomorrow, but any help, ideas would be so very greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Slogans and ridicule won’t work with someone like this. You need to get an organization or authority who can act. It appears your county Animal Control has no powers to stop this.

If he does carry out his vile threat, he will be arrested for cruelty to animals and probably a few other things. Sounds like a sociopath.

Then maybe an animal rescue place can come in and take his animals away from him.

People like him make me sad.

Protesting might make you a target, and the guy is hot tempered and unstable. Let the courts and cops deal with him.

Shirley Ujest, The OP mentioned he’s been bailed out more than once so being arrested might not do any good unless a judge refuses to set bail.

OP: try the Colorado Bureau of Animal Protection..

Just because it’s a mare doesn’t mean that it has a foal inside it.

And this could be easily stopped. Presumably the sheriff’s office is near the county courthouse, and could be summoned when a guy pulls up to the courthouse steps with a horse trailer, parks it, starts unloading a mare, and the starts sharpening his big knife. There are enough laws being violated (illegal parking, having an agricultural animal on public property without proper permit, blocking the sidewalk, possessing a dangerous weapon at a public building, and the good old catch-all: disturbing the peace) that the sheriff could easily arrest him right away.

Now that might be hard to get to hold up in court. Shooting a horse in the head is an acceptably quick & painless way to put an animal down.

But I would agree with others here – don’t bother protesting & holding signs about this. You are not going to change this guy’s mind, no matter how much you protest. In fact, he’s trying to fight this by making it a big public issue, your protests will just draw that much more attention – and getting attention is what he wants.

Don’t waste your time with slogans and placards. At least not at this guy’s farm. If you and a bunch of people start making noise outside the county presuctor’s office, maybe you cen get them to find a legal justification for taking the animals from him. Or talk to the local Humane Society.

Maybe put some money together with other people and hire a lawyer – maybe a judge can issue some kind of order to prevent the killing.

The key is to put pressure, or offer assistance and support to, the people in the community who enforce the law. The guy is a whackjob, nothing you say or do to him directly will make the least bit of difference.

Thank you for the replies and advice.

Just to let you see a little of what this bozo is about, a couple of snippets from the Greely newspaper online, TheTribune. ( http://www.greeleytribune.com/article/20090826/NEWS/908269990/1005/NONE&parentprofile=1001)

"There may not be many, but residents worried about the second American Revolution had better lock up their horses before Sept. 5.

The Weld County Sheriff’s Office warned residents Tuesday that legal action can be enforced against those who participate in a mass horse shooting led by Trenton H. Parker, who lives between Lochbuie and Fort Lupton. Parker has distributed fliers soliciting shooters.

“The first horse that we’re gonna kill is a beautiful gray stallion by the name of Independence,” Parker said during a rambling half-hour-long interview Tuesday in which he expressed frustration with Weld County code enforcement officials and other members of government. “When we shoot him with one shot, make no mistake about it, it will be the first shot of the second American Revolution. You think I’m kidding? You just sit by and watch what happens.”
And a little more "On Tuesday, Parker said he planned to shoot 14 Russian Arabian horses — though he said he originally planned to hang them — for two reasons: he wouldn’t be able to care for them after going to jail on Sept. 7 for a code violation conviction, and because he’s upset with county code enforcement. According to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office, Parker will serve a 90-day sentence for failure to clean up his property.

Weld County sheriff’s deputy Shane Scofield said officials are taking Parker’s threats seriously and he has a criminal history. In fact, Scofield said, Parker has a court appearance at 9 this morning regarding an assault charge.

“The idea here was simply to let people know that if this guy was serious … that they’re aware that participating in that activity would be a crime,” he said.

Parker said he’s upset he’s being punished for code violations because he doesn’t own the property. He added that he doesn’t own the horses, saying they are owned by an investment group that also owns the property."

I’ll continue in another post to avoid a novel.

And here is a news report about him from last week as well. http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/20561214/detail.html

I’ve been burning up the phone lines, the Sheriff’s department says because he is a convicted felon, he cannot own a gun and if he were to use a gun on one of the horses, it would make for a helluva lot longer than 90 day sentence.

So that’s one of the reasons for the flyer looking for executioners. The other is to promote the Tea Party scheme thing. In fact, there is a woman at his 40 acres that puts herself as a representative of the National Horse Rescue. Please google it, you won’t find it. None of the horse rescues out here have heard of that group. But one of the reporters gave us her contact phone number and it is the same as at the bottom of the flyer, right under this sentence "For Tea Party information:’

This guy is just…unbelievable, I’ve been researching him and have talked to people that have dealt with him in the past. Wow, I have no words. He hides everything in or under investment groups. Says he doesn’t own the land or horses, but an investment group does and they want the horses shot rather than slaughtered. Weld County can’t find any investment group and none is stepping forward.

In the first video, they show a bit of the paperwork about his assault charge. You can’t see much of it, but what happened is that he got into a disagreement with a fella that worked for him, knocked him down and tied him up, then killed the guy’s pet duck.

Today, he was on the news and tries to come across as just an aw shucks type. They haven’t posted it yet, but, sheesh.

Anyhow, I’m tired and want to watch Cal Meacham on Clash of the Gods. Tomorrow is another day.

Thanks!

We had a husband and wife the next town over that was just as nutty before, during and after their trials. They didn’t own a horse, but they’re the same as your guy. Wait until he goes on trial and enjoy the reports of crazy at the courthouse.

He doesn’t own the property or the horses? Jeez, can’t someone find the owners and have them file some kind of complaints or legal papers?

The investment group own the stuff. You can bet he’s the investment group.

Busy fella. He was convicted of mail fraud in 1983.

I believe you’ll win that bet. He’s crazy like a fox.

Another story from Friday while I wait for the newest video to get posted. http://www.greeleytribune.com/article/20090830/NEWS/908299969/1005/NONE&parentprofile=1001 In the left side bar, you can see two things, that I was wrong, he didn’t kill the pet duck, his dog did, and that the Sheriff’s department is taking this VERY seriously.

And here’s the aw,shucks moment. What a loverly man.

So… any prostitutes missing from your area? Does he have an unaccounted-for wife and children? Because he sounds like just that sort of lovely man.
