Why is Lex’s father so determined to have Lex in the mental institution and deserving of “shock treatment?”
Why is Lex’s dad freaked out now that he has seen a videotape of Clark talking to Lex during a visit? (As far as I know Mr. Luther does NOT know anything about Clark’s powers)
Why is Lana blaming Clark because her horse got spooked and broke her leg?
Next week’s show looks just as good as tonights!
Thanks!
As said above. Any wonder if Lex could be faking his amnesia? (BTW, I appreciated that Lex’s treatment was presented as a special, weird, variation of ECT, a treatment with some valid aplications that gets a real bad rep in popular represents of mental asylums).
Lionel knows that Clark is weird. He also knows that someone has been running around smallville that is not human (he has a sample of Clark’s blood, but doesn’t know it’s from Clark). He knows the cave in Smallville has strange alien powers. He’s very interested in how or if Clark is connected to the alien phenomena around Smallville.
She was babysitting Lex (who was whacked out on drugs at the time) at Clark’s request when it happened. She tried to give Lex some coffee, he freaked out and pushed her into the horse.
Lionel Luthor is ashamed of his son’s sexual orientation, and still believes that homosexuality is a “disease” that needs to be cured. If he can condition him to “play straight” he won’t have to worry about any potentially embarrassing P.R. You heard Lex, though: not even a memory wipe can get Clark out of his thoughts.
Lionel (that bigot!) thinks Lex is going to blackmail/seduce Clark, and that Lionel will have to now add Clark to the long long list of boy toys that he’s had to pay off or have killed to keep his family name “clean”. Lex’s true intent was to trade secrets with Clark, share a powerful, brotherly bond of trust, and see if something stronger develops later.
Because in spite of her public “girl power” attitude, Lana secretly loves to be a damsel in distress. Her strong feminist side punishes – and also indulges – this fantasy by putting herself in grave peril. When the man fails to save her, holding up his end of the fairy tale, she feels cheated and lashes out. That, and she’s a shallow bitch who’d be no good for Clark, even if he were straight.
DISCLAIMER: the actual questions have already been answered. These are my totally bogus answers based on my own alternate theory of what happens in Smallville the other six days of the week. I’m a straight male who loves watching Smallville.
I had the same thoughts about Lex faking his amnesia. When he hugged Clark, I was ready for him to make some sort of face letting the audience know that he’s faking. If he is faking, I’m glad they made the choice not to beat the audience over the head with it. I think this show really succeeds when it chooses the subtle route.
I hope they develop the rift in the Clark/Lana relationship, rather than just keeping them apart for a few episodes and then they are magically friends again.
