Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 64 Amurrkin out and rainy with a predicted high of 73 and rainy most of the day. There is also a WIND ADVISORY in effect all day. We are advised there will be wind? No plans for the day at all as ‘tis a good day to be inside and dry. Fine by me. I shall, however, as I mentioned last night, do up some beast stew in the slow cooker. I’ll get that goin’ in a little while and let slow cooker do it’s thing all day.
Butters I looked up Mindhunter. Might have to give that one a go. Looks intriguin’. I just finished watchin’ Rectify which you might like.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the rainy, windy day!
Holy crap on a cracker - it’s 39-freekin’-degrees out there!!! We’re promised 66° and sunny for today - but I’m not sure that’ll be enough to dry my laundry in the limited number of daylight hours we’ve been having, so I’m thinking today is a dryer day. Plus everyone but Roxy and me will be working out in the shop - I can’t be leaving her inside while I hang clothes and I can’t watch her outside while I’m hanging them. But I can trust her for the few minutes it takes to pull stuff from the washer to the dryer. So that’s the plan.
Daughter & fambly are going as the Fairly OddParents trio for Halloween, so I’m going to crochet crowns for the 3 of them. They’ll wear them, tho - I don’t think I can make them float over their heads… Then they’ll go T or T-ing in the neighborhood where their sitter lives, since there are lots of houses close together there, rather than here, which is a terrible place to beg door-to-door. Especially since most folks are like me - leaving the lights off and not decorating.
I got an email from my old boss - we’re going to try to meet up for happy hour some day soon. The trick is working out a date that works for both of us. He lives in Fredericksburg, but he works just across the 301 bridge in Dahlgren, so we’ll probably meet there after work one day. In fact, a quick supper might be a good choice. We shall see. I like Al - he was easily the best boss I ever had.
Anyway, it’ll be a chilly one today. I even stoked up the pellet stove!
It’s a chilly 36 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 64.
Debating going to the park this early. I know Bella and Bully won’t be there this morning, so we may be the only ones who show up. I’m waiting to hear from Jax. Then again, it is the weekend, so all kinds of dogs may be there. Not sure I should take the little one.
Little annoyed with my son again. He didn’t vacuum the stairs yesterday, something that is hard for me to do, and he didn’t put out the new mouse traps. I wanted him to do that after I took the dogs to bed.
So we will be having a* talk* today.
Your wine increased your carb consumption greatly ( ) Johnny. I don’t drink nearly as much of it as I used to because of that.
Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, a load of crate bedding (don’t ask) in the dryer and sheets and towels in the wash. KP is done and I’ll play a bit in the studio before sheveling and heading out to buy some groceries.
Mooooooom done flung a cravin’ on me for meatloaf with one of her earlier posts, so that’s what is on the CasaRoja menu this weekend, along with balsamic roasted green beans, mushrooms and almonds and colomorbus. I have a Marketplace pickup for tomorrow, but this is my rest up weekend.
Up playing with Buddy or rather trying to keep him alive. He is into everything and has learned to run when I need him to stay. It’s all a game to him.
We are probably getting some rain from Nestor. Very cloudy and dark. And I agree with Swampy that is a stupid name for a tropical storm.
I found my debit card in my dirty pants pocket thank goodness.
Laundry is done. Roxy has been napping for about 90 minutes - yay! SIL is done working for the day, so he’ll take over with her. Back to *Poldark *and afghaning.
I think I’m going to a steampunk murder mystery dinner tonight with my sister. It sounds like fun. I just have to keep all of my appendages crossed that my haid and spoons hold up.
Despite being 36 degrees this morning, it was pretty warm at the park. I had to take my coat off. The sun was hot and there was no breeze.
More people showed up than I expected, but other than Ripple and Blaze getting into an argument, everything went smoothly. Echo seems to prefer people over dogs. She struts around like she owns the place, she’s a cocky little thing.
I’m having a hard time staying awake today. If I sit down, I fall asleep, so nothing much has gotten done.
My son got the new mousetraps set out. They are the kind that electrocute the little assholes.
If the cat was doing his job we wouldn’t need the traps.
Now to get him (my son, not the cat) to vacuum the stairs, and help me move the love seat. I think one of the dogs pushed one of my slippers under there. It’s why I hate the love seat, it’s just high enough for the dogs to push stuff under it, but not high enough for me to to reach under there to get it. Taking it to the dump is happening next week, I’m tired of dealing with it. I’ll keep the seat cushions for dog beds.
Howdy Y’all! Been a rainy and a little bit windy day. However da cave is dry and calm, so that’s where we’ve been all day. Beast stew is simmerin’ away and in a bit I shall make baby cornbread muffins. I also baked a chawklit sheet cake this afternoon. I got sad puppy dawg eyes until I said it was ok to eat a piece. Brat!
Finally getting something done, sorting papers.
And irking.
I got Echo’s AKC papers, now I need an official name. Even though she will be spayed and the papers don’t mean anything, the AKC Reunite Plan is worth it.
Howdy Y’all! Beast stew, baby cornbread muffins, and chawklit cake have been consumed. YUM! Looks like the rain is at least slowin’ down. Been a pretty steady rain all day which is a good and much needed thing. Now for more chillage and maybe even an early bedtime.
butters, colomorbus is simply sliced cucumbers and onions in vinegar water. You can throw a chunked tomato and/or bell pepper if you like, but the salad is still the same. My guess is that the name is either German or Polish, since I do it like that side of the family.
I re-scanned my OtA channels on TV because of the change and wound up with the local NBC and PBS affiliates that I’ve never been able to get over the air since living in the midstate. It totally dropped the Fox stations.
Evening all. Out at the soccer fields from 8am-3:30pm (lost all three games, I’m a bad coach I guess…) in 50F weather with rain. So now inside and toasty and not really looking to move much. Tomorrow is supposed to be N.O.S. and mid 70’s…go figure.
Sari, Echo’s official (fancy) name should be “Miss Special Appearance By”…
It’s $35 to register Echo with the AKC, but for an extra $15 she can get the reunite plan. Basically when you get a pet micro-chipped you have to pay $10 or $15 a year to keep them in the system. With the reunite plan, I pay $15 and she is in the system for life. If she gets lost or stolen, as soon as she gets scanned, I will be notified.
MetalMouse - I am limited to 23 letters for the name The akc allows 36 letters, but it’s in the contract that her name has to be prefixed with the kennel name. I could pay extra to get a longer name, but that isn’t going to happen. If she was going to be a show dog it might be worth it.
I get off irk at 11, then it’s straight to bed. I am sleepy.
