snatch-amazing!!!

I watched ‘snatch’ a few weeks ago, and it is one of the funniest films ive ever seen…it was beyind funny. Is anyone else crazy about snatch? I especially like the ‘Your gun is a replica’ conversation between Vinnie Jones and the black guys or Dennis Farina’s role . And what about Brad Pitt’s character?dammn this was some crazy shit! Ive seen it four times already and i havent heard enough.

‘Got anything to declare?’
‘Yeah…dont go to England’

Great flick. Tyrone was priceless…“It was a funny angle!”

Now you must see Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels.

What’s best is watching the DVD with the translation on. It translates everything Brad Pitt says into plain English subtitles. All except that bet scene with the dogs and the rabbit. At that point, the subtitles just read “?”

It’s a great movie, probably Richie’s best. I love the final boxing match. The scene where Pitt’s knocked on his ass and “falls through the canvas” is really cool.

Brick top is one of the most ruthless motherf*ckers ever filmed.

“Periwinkle blue”

I’m waiting till it’s on a double-bill with Dick.

Do ya like degs?

Oh, you’re terrible, Eve!

<snort>

Yeah, great movie, but I have a bit of a problem in that, having watched it often enough that I can understand Mickey I find myself speaking Pikey for several hours after a viewing.

I realize that it was important to set up the character of Rory Breaker, but I do wish they’d just left the scene of the flaming man running out of the Samoan pub unexplained.

Protection from what? Ze Germans?

That’s not in Snatch. That scene’s in Ritchie’s other film, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Did anyone understand a word of what 2trew just said?

i loved it as well. i saw it piss drunk when it came out in theater. man was i so entertained. “a cup of tea for the big fella”…

I saw it with a pair of Brits who promised to “translate” the accents and Britisisms if necessary. Then we get to Mickey. I look at them. They tell me “We can’t understand Pikey either.”

Asaell, akarseageddamoviesmizdub, 'mtinkninfahginpoikey.

I hope that clears up the misunderstanding.

It’s a great film. You know you’ve seen it too many times when you can decipher Mickey’s explanation of the conditions for doing the fight…the caravan for his ma, she’s very partial to perriwinkle blue, don’t ya know? and all that jive.
Senior year of high school, 3 of my friends played football. During “hell week” (morning practice, then a few hour break, then an afternoon practice, for 2 weeks) they watched it during the break everyday…that’s a bit out of hand, IMO.
“Why do they call him the bullet dodger?”
“Because he dodges bullets, Avi.”
So many great parts/lines in that film…
“Why do we need a new caravan, Turkish? What’s wrong with this one?”
“Oh…nothing. It’s tip-top”
I could go on all day…
“And a Pikey reaction is quite a fucking thing”
But I think I’ll stop here…
“Fuckin A look at the size a that one!”
OK…NOW I’ll stop…
“It’s too tight.”
“Too tight? You could park a jumbo fucking jet in there!”

FWIW, both Snatch and LS&2SB both have great soundtracks as well.

Indeed they do.
And Lock Stock has not only one of the coolest card scenes ever, but one of the best party/celebrations ever! A double threat! And Snatch has a (well, several really) great boxing scenes. And “Star” is the best BMWFilm…
OK, I’ll stop hyping up Guy Ritchie now, and just so you don’t think I think he can do no wrong, I will voluntarily mention Swept Away. So there:p

I had to pause the movie the first time I saw that by reason of not being able to breathe. Just something about the confluence of the blokes being under we’re-gonna-get-killed stress, their deer-in-headlights stupefied reaction to the Pikey garble…blimey!

Great film.

I loved snatch, does that mean I have to see “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels”?

“Fish, chips, cup o’ tea, bad food, worse weather, Mary-fucking-Poppins London”

no! ticker is a lot better!!!

Vinnie Jones plays a great role as well. In fact, he’s a better actor than he ever was a defender.
