Sneezing All Over The MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 67 Amurrkin out and rainy with a predicted high of 77 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse possible all afternoon. We shall see. The big excitatement of the day is laundry, a trip to Sam’s for cleanin’ stuff to take over to the church house, and ploppin’ a plaque down in the columbarium whilst there. Also, bug man comes this mornin’. Sup shall be leftovers from yestiddy.

{{{wiki}}} ::tacklehug:: Yay for new doggie! Also, you are the frontrunner for most TMI post of the week. While readin’ your post I mistook weedin’ for weddin’ and wondered just why you were weddin’ so much.

Nuts tell the guy you will take nuttin’ less than a fish tank and a new dinette set.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Yesterday was 72 and sunny. Today 65 and sunny. Tomorrow 39 and raining. Welcome spring. Not much is budding or blooming here. Vegetation doesn’t know if it’s winter or summer. The horse is semi shedding.

Happy Toosday!

It’s a cloudy 55 degrees outside.
Supposed to stay cloudy and get up to 75.

It’s a bit of a grumpy morning.
Shouldn’t be, as I got plenty of sleep.

Still lots to do around here, because nothing is getting done the way it should be.
I have to face the fact that I am not young anymore and can’t get everything done as quickly as I used to.
Of course going to the park every day doesn’t help get things done. However, it does help with my mood and Rip’s behavior.

Congrats on the new pup {{{Wiki}}}
Every time I see a pom I think of you.

Whenever I see the commercials for home testing for colon cancer, I hear the ship it off to the lab as shit it off to the lab.
I suppose when I get a PCP, he or she is going to want to schedule me for a whole bunch of tests that I’d rather not take.

Looks like the sun is trying to come out.

You were sneezing yesterday, too? I’ve got a bad cold; so bad I stayed home from work yesterday. I was sneezing and feeling miserable, too.

Shower’s not quite done; he has to come back tonight to finish up the plaster.

OK – Metal Mouse wants one from Da Jungle -------- boy have I got a good one now.

Short background; we are now doing some volume for our Direct Delivery operation and for local UPS delivery in addition to our normal stuff going to the USPS. No biggie; just some packages easier to send through us rather than ship direct to them; maybe 3k AM and 1K UPS. For the UPS stuff it works out basically ideal as their facility is just behind ours basically in the same industrial block; the truck pulls out from our gate, makes a right, goes 200 yards, and makes a right through their gate. Easy-peasy, right?

So the truck left our gate at 2am; fine and dandy. And time passes and shifts change and ----------- 8AM UPS calls over to find out when they can expect their truck. What you talking about Willis? It should have been there at 02:15 hours. What the Hell? And being the high-tech company we are, of course we have no sort of sensors or tracking devices telling us where it is. So they call the driver and he finally calls back and ---------- he’s basically in Indiana somewhere. Seems as how he entered the street address in his GPS, got several choices at various ranges of distances and he hit the wrong one. He was basically shooting for somewhere in Outer Podunkianville Idaho. :smack:

And it gets better; he is close to his hour limit so should he take his six or whatever hours off or do we want to send a relief driver? :smack: Fortunately that ain’t my department. My friend who is that department called me saying “Goddamnit!!! You and I could have freaking carried the stuff there by hand and been done by 3AM!!! It was six hundred freaking pieces!! And now this a-hole has us in the crosshairs of a major meltdown!”

Much accusing is happening as I type this and people are going to get axed. The driver needless to say but also people like the gate guard who never thought to mention that the truck made a left out the gate instead of a right. What the Hell does he know? We’re all kept in the dark so much that a truck is just a truck and 99% of them make lefts; that is the normal thing. No bosses of course; our bosses never make mistakes like not actually sending an e-mail or calling to see if something actually worked. They have a cushion over their asses keeping them comfy made by sewing all us peasants together.

Like the Army ----- it’s not just a job; it’s an adventure!

Morning all. Looks like after two days the rain is finally departing, supposed to be N.O.S. and in the 70 today. We’ll see. I suspect soccer practice to be cancelled due to the last two days of rain, but my average of correctly predicting what the Parks Department does here is way low.

Need to do a little cleaning and sorting, Kitchen needs some love, but not much else on the agenda for today.

Wiki, congrats on the new dog.

Nut, good luck on the car selling; do you have used car dealers that will buy it from you? (somewhat common in the USA).

ruble, guess idiots gotta idiate. And congrats in packing out the trucks; sometime the old dog with the old tricks works out best.

So off to another fun day in N. Ali-bama…

Yeah… problem is, it’s very used, and salvaged after an accident, with big dents and things, so its official value is approximately a that of a packet of peanuts.

I’m dropping it off to a dealer in the nearest big town that takes old junkers later, but with the amount I’ll get, the fish tank would honestly be about as good a deal. Plus it’s going to mean a 2 hour trip back on the bus, though I don’t mind that too much, it’s actually quite a scenic trip and getting a break from staring at the computer’s probably a good thing. Well, so long as I can get the earlier bus, at least, otherwise I won’t make it back til after 8 tonight and half the trip will be in the dark. Hopefully I can get it done fast!

Silly me - I thought the first drawing I started would be simple and straightforward. I’ve spent 4 anna half hours on it - with luck, it’ll be done before quitting time. Obviously, this is a delayed Moanday.

But I packed a good lunch, so there’s that.

In last week’s thread, I said I wanted to get back into 35 mm photography. The light meter on my favourite camer is not reading correctly. I looked into getting it fixed, and to have it calibrated for a non-mercury battery, and received this reply:

Kind of a lot, but it would be ‘new’. There’s a four- to six-week turnaround time, and I’d have to send it to San Diego. I have the camera with me, so I’ll stop into a shop in Everett on the way home and see if they can do better. I also have the OM-10 Mrs. L.A. gave back to me. It seems to be working, but it could use a good cleaning. A new lens for it will be here in a couple of days.

Scribe do you believe you were being treated the way a Christian should by her pastor and church and I say no. Welcome

Thanks for the welcome Buttercup! I think for their xtian stripe that requires their extremely narrow beliefs they were a lot nicer than they could have been. I got off lucky! There’s a whole lotta people out there who face much, much worse reactions.

I just woke up, it’s only 7 am here, so am just doing my morning exercise, which involves reading forums, before I dive back into my book. Gotta warm up ye old noggin before I expect her to be creative.

Why did you need a new lens for the OM-10; why not just swap out whatever you were using on the OM-1?

Also know of a good repair place in PA if you need. PM me if you want details.

The place in Everett wants $178 to do the same thing as the guy in San Diego, and I think their warranty is only 90 days. I’ll go there after work anyway and let him do an evaluation on the OM-4. That’s $25. Maybe I’ll have them evaluate the OM-10 too.

The lens on the OM-10 either has separation or fungus inside the front element. I have no idea where I got this camera. Someone may have given it to me, or maybe it was a freebie with something I bought. I want a 50 mm f1.8 lens I can leave on all the time for when I feel like grabbing it, rather than swapping out a lens from another camera. (Actually, the OM-1 has a 24 mm lens on it at the moment. But I’ve already ordered a 50 mm from eBay.)

Howdy Y’all! Been quite the adventuresome day for da bear. Well, maybe not adventure, but innerestin’ and strange. First, laundry is done so yay for that. I spent some time over to the church house where I plopped a plaque down in the columbarium, had a discussion with EYP about yahd mowage (talkin’ with him, textin’ others, and finally an email to clarify all the plans), leaned on the folks who are repairin’ the playground equipment about havin’ it done and in place on Easter. I got leaned on about this last night at Vestry meetin’. Had a discussion about how much oil to purchase for Firday’s fish fry, and a discussion about corn meal for the fish fry. Purchased the oil and the corn meal on my way back to da cave. I’ll take it over tomorrow when I go back once again to the church house. And, if’n that were not enough had a talk with the head of the flower guild about puttin’ stems, leaves, whatever else leftovers from floral arrangin’ in a trash bag and not just dumpin’ into a trash can. One would not think one should have to have such a discussion with grown ass adults, but I did. :dubious: I have such a fun life!

Memo to self: when selling a car, remember to empty the junk out of it first. All the junk.

Do not, for example, drive to the next town figuring 'Ehh, I can get the bus back, then discover you have left not just some normal stuff like a first aid kit and a map, but a whole bunch of beekeeping and gardening equipment including a garden spade and fork. If you do, you will not only look like a complete tit at the car dealership, you will then have to carry the stuff to the bus station looking like a madwoman, then share a seat with it all the way home. At least I didn’t have to wait for the second bus.

It was already kinda funny; it was one of those dealerships where you put in details of the car, they give you a quote, then you drive in and they check what the car’s really like before paying up. The guy said I was his first ever customer who’d actually got the minimum quote and come in. They do buy quite a few at that price though, 'cos people apparently always attempt to make their hunk o junk look better, and claim major damage is a minor dent or fail to mention it at all. I couldn’t see the point. It wasn’t as though he was going to miss the big dent in the back, or the fact that the official paperwork said it was salvaged.

Just fingers crossed nothing goes wrong with the collection of the new vehicle tomorrow! It should be fine, and it’s simpler and cheaper regarding legal stuff, getting rid of the old one first, but it does feel a bit risky.

We have supped and all is well. I have been informed that work got done on some of the playground equipment this afternoon. Yay. Hopefully progress will be seen when I go over tomorrow. This really is takin’ up more of my time than I imagined.

Nuts hee! If you had really wanted to play up the madwoman scene, you could have talked to the stuff while ridin’ back on the bus. Yay about gettin’ rid of the old wheelz. Hope everything works out easy with gettin’ the new one tomorrow.

I’ve been writing like a good little author. Am berry sleepy. I ate too much macaroni for breakfast, so no lunch for me. It was prolly more like brunch anyway. I have no idea where my mystery is going, so that’s fun. I had one of the murders all planned out ahead of time, but I am undecided on the other two.

Our building failed the inspection - there were un-nailed holes in the hurricane clips and the inspector didn’t like the way the electrical was grounded, so the Amish crew and the electrician have to come back. Always something.

Supper was yum. Tonight shall be max chillage. And so it goes.

Was off today. But I almost wasn’t, shift called in last night, but texted me that she would be at work. A text I read as I was pulling ito work.:smack: But iwas going to do laundry after work ,so I went to the laundromat. And went and watched hockey practice. Also, there was a fender bender outside the apartment, I was charged by a small yappy dog when I went to investigate, and there was a baby danger noodle outside my door when I tried to take Gordie out.

also in North Cakalacky.

Sunny!

And yay for the new pupper.
And to channel my nurse mom [Mom]STOP PICKING AT IT[/Mom]

Hammett, that’s some crazy stuff. Bu keep writing in the MMP, I like your style.

Fairly productive day today.
Got a bunch of phone calls made, front postage stamp got mowed and cleaned up a bit.
Got some bills paid, canceled adobe.
Went to the dog park.
Made a spiral ham and broccoli for dinner.
Summer clothes are out, but still not put away. Some of them need to be tried on.

Nuts, around here we have people who will come tow your vehicle away to the junk yard. You usually get a flat $350 for it, no matter what it is or in how bad of shape.
It is amazing how much one can accumulate in one’s car sometimes. I try to not keep anything in there.
