Sneezing All Over The MMP

Fairly unproductive days today, did get a bill paid and mailed, but mostly just hung around the house, napped, watched Champions League soccer, and munched on celery. Despite getting close to 80F, no soccer tonight after 2 days of rain, the Parks will let them dry today and open up tomorrow.

Nuts, I think all of us forget to remove something from our old cars; you just forgot more. Hope the replacement car pickup goes well.

doggio, I had no idea what a ‘baby danger noodle’ was until today. Thanks to you and google I have learned something new.

FCM, inspectors are the most anal-retentive people in the world–and we’re probably lucky that they are. Hope the work can be done quickly and the building approved.

swampy, you sure you’re not getting paid for this gig? (Says the guy coaching three soccer teams and managing two divisions with absolutely no relations or kids involved…).

LA John, hope the cameras can get restored to ‘as new’ condition.

Scribe, 5 hours difference? Where are you, Alaska or Hawaii? Or maybe the Galapagos?

Mac-n-cheese has been consumed. Tomorrow I will venture out and do the first mowage of the new year.

metal mouse, I did the DIY poo test last year. Twas easy, but frankly, I don’t think the USPO folks get paid enough to handle those packages. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good boy Ripple! :skritches:

Skritches to Kissy too wiki. She sounds like a sweetheart.

swampy, have y’all considered a complst bed for spent flowers and some kitchen waste? If done right, you would have some compost for the grounds and/or a good worm bed for the anglers in the parish.

I played the adult in my department again today. Glad my boss will be back tomorrow. I have an appointment tomorrow evening to get my taxes done. Irk didn’t sponsor the tax bus this year and didn’t give us a firm NO until the last of March. Oy! I irk in a finance function and this year’s tax code changes leave me nervous enough to have the pros do them.

well depends on the area swampy see here we have these green bins and dumpsters for yard waste and it cant be bagged because waste management inherited a mulching business when they bought out the local disposal company…so you provide the material so’s they can sell it back to ya in a few months ….if its bagged they can refuse pickup as I learnt years ago… and since the yard upkeep laws were passed the landlords hire alleged gardening services and every spring theres much yelling and complaining as the landlord unbags the grass and leaves… ………
Nut,We used one of those "we buy cars "services when we got rid of out old van and actually got 100$ more than the estimate but they came with a tow truck , paperwork and hauled it off do they have salvage yards (AKA pick a part) in the uk?

Where they park a car on a lot and you come and take off what ever part you desire ? if you have the know how an the tools? the’ll do it for ya for a bit more tho ….

I made it to the grocery store and I have planned out 2 - TWO - entire dinners. I feel accomplished.

Tomorrow I meet with the school counselor about 'Beamette finally going back to school soon. She’ll be increasing her attendance time gradually, so she doesn’t end up with headache problems again. Fingers crossed.

I think I’m out of spoons, but I’ll push through dinner. It’s going to be BBQ burgers and dogs though, none of this spiral-ham-on-a-weeknight like some people I know. :stuck_out_tongue:

I couldn’t tell if the shutter speed on the OM-4 was accurate. I left work an hour early and made it to the shop. The guy tested it, and said it was good, and that you can’t really judge it by ear. I left the OM-1 there for an overhaul. The OM-10’s lens has fungus, which I knew. The OM-10 seems to be working, but I left it there for an evaluation.

I’m going to do a little mini-rant.

Just because I irk from home doesn’t mean I don’t irk.
It’s great to be able to roll out of bed and log into irk without having to get dressed, comb my hair, or brush my teeth.
It’s great being home in the sense that I can throw a load of laundry in the washer between calls, or start a meal, or any other little task that doesn’t take much time or concentration.
But it doesn’t mean I don’t irk. I have a schedule, and I need to be available during that time.
So yes, it is easier, and more convenient, and there are a lot of benefits to irking from home - but it is still IRK.
I think if one more person tells me that all I do all day is sit on my ass and talk on the phone, I will beat them over the head with my land line.
And believe me, sitting on your ass talking to customers all day gets irksome. Just a little less irksome that doing it in an office.
So, yes I do irk a REAL job, and no I can’t be at your beck and call because I am home, and yes, it is a big deal for me to take time off irk because if I don’t irk I don’t get paid.

Rant over.
I think throwing a spiral ham in the oven is less irk than burgers and dogs.
Welcome back Sunny!

Metal Mouse

Your second guess was correct. Or in the words of Kosh Naranak, “yes.”

Since we’ve both had Mac & Cheese today we must be Mac & Cheese twinsies. I hope you realize what an important responsiblity that is!

A man in a black suit with no hat and a weeping woman in a white wedding dress arrive at your door. The man in the black suit with no hat smashes your toaster to smithereens with a hammer, while the weeping woman in the white wedding dress throws around holy water and sets your kitchen on fire. It’s pretty neat, actually.

My TOASTER!!!

OK, bed time. I’s tahred…

I do not think I have checked in yet this week but I have worked such long hours.
*
Whine!*

I have not had a complet day off since Monday a week ago, and I have heard I may have to work a short day Saturday. That would be day 13.

Blurf, just blurf.

I am commenting simply so that gmail will stop sending me notifications about the same comment. I’ve gotten like 4 notifs for spiderman’s comment, and although it as brilliant, I don’t need to re-read it that many times.

Since I’m here, I am eating popcorn and it’s been raining a bit. I love rain, so that makes me happy.

But its stopped, so now I’m sad.

I have developed a dry cough. It seems to be exacerbated my acid reflux. Then it cycles onward as the cough irritates the acid reflux, which then brings on the cough again. Repeat ad nauseam.

I do not otherwise feel unwell, it’s just an annoying inconvenience.

you might wanna report that … there supposed to stop after the 2nd one well until you reply again

Good morning!! Ready for another great day?!?!??!

I slept pretty well, but woke up exhausted. We’ll see if caffeine helps. Nothing exciting on the agenda, but that’s fine. I don’t want to deal with excitement today. Just let me do what I have to do and we’ll all be fine.

Happy Wednesday!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Double shift today.

Spring in Normandy hasn’t so much sprung as gone bonkers. When my local coworkers complain about not knowing what the weather will be like from one day to the other, I tell them I’ve got Normandy weather all figured out: it’s variable. Today it’s raining, yesterday sunny, tomorrow who knows. In the same day it can be freezing when we get to work and over 20 when we go to lunch. So, variable. They say I’m not wrong.

I’m bored, cranky and trying to reorganize some old master-data preparation files which were designed by… well, I’d say by a drunk monkey but sadly no. They’re the stuff you get when the data preparation files are created by someone who doesn’t understand the data: each table that needs to end up being filled gets its own separate page, with the majority of the fields in alphabetic order by technical name. We have a page with only three fields (none of which will be visible to the users once the stuff is loaded), others with more than 50 (of which less than half are actually needed). I wonder if it would be weird if I start avoiding projects that have a Master Data team… I want my Master Data to be handled by people who understand that a batch of stuff isn’t just a bunch of fields in The Big Blue Database: it’s something that you’ve got in the warehouse and that, depending on what it’s made of, you may be able to see, smell and touch.

Why am I getting dog food ads? Am I supposed to feed my co-irkers? :dubious:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 62 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy (mostly dark) with a predicted high of 83 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. This mornin’ I shall lay in provisions and really plan on not much of anything else today. Tonight is soup ‘n sammich and Lenten program over to the church house so that takes care of sup. I foresee much watchin’ of Netflix. What? It’s not goin’ to binge watch itself you know!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother I must purtify and don appropriate goin’ about the Pubic Sto’ attire.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Happy Hump Day!

It’s a cool 43 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 64.

Getting ready to take the brat to daycare, then I can get some stuff done without his ‘help’.

Lots of broccoli and spiral ham left over, so no need to cook for a while.
That is why I love leftovers.

and before I forget :::Whack Spidey over the head with my landline, and hope it doesn’t break the phone:::
