Sneezing All Over The MMP

I’m not afraid to fly, I just don’t enjoy the hassle. Plus it’s a long way to fly. But we shall see…

I arrived home safely and now I am very berry sleepy. I did some writing in the car and have done more since being home and now I’m taking a break.

I don’t like flying, either. I’m not scared, but it’s usually long and booooring and you have to carry things and planes are so squishy, and those toilet closets are the worst!!! Haven’t been on a cruise, but I think I’d like it if I didn’t get seasick. My mom went on one and got seasick horribly, but it was a smaller ship. I’m not sure how much I’d like the squishy bed closets, I can get claustrophobic, but I’m all in for the free food and WiFi.

But really, folks. Why would God have invented homes if he intended us to leave them? Food for thought, eh? :stuck_out_tongue:

nava, the targeted ads have picked up on all of the doggy chatter in the MMP. :stuck_out_tongue:

Juliet, after the second root canal through a crown, I swore never to get a crown without a root canal under it again. No sense running the risk of ruining an expensive crown to do what needed done in the first place. I hope it isn’t painful and they give you a good seditive and good recoup drugs.

{{{sunny and mama}}}

Tis been a bizzy day. I’ve chased my tail some, gotten folks from my department ready to head to Arizona to take care of a third party logistics vendor’s inventory who got busted by ICE and has sever $million of our product. Tonight, I got my taxes done. Not getting a huge refund, but not paying in either. The refund should be enough to pay off the last of a medical bill still on the books, freeing my quarterly bonus up for the inevitable auto insurance rate hike.

Sunny, I haven’t done that one yet (it’s only my list for my 70th Birthday present in 2023), but it sounds great. But make sure you actually get to* land* in Antarctica, not just see it from the boat. Costs an arm and a leg, but what the heck, if I can I probably will go for the seventh.

FCM, Scribe, as one who has taken more than a few loooonnnggg trips (Sydney-Dallas, Atlanta-Dubai, Chicago-Shanghai and others), it’s not a lot of fun, but there is enough entertainment available and if I (6’2" 280 lbs.) can sleep on a flight, you can too. And the bathrooms on the larger jets are…acceptable.

Baker, one paid week a year sucketh mightily. Are you planning to catch the new Godzilla movie this May?

Spidey, I believe you’re getting whacked on general principles…

Soccer practice went well, the visiting Brazilian coach handled a lot of it, he’s really, really good with the kids and finished practice by going 1 v 5 against the girls, who had a ball doing it.

So back home, a large Sallit has been prepared and consumed and internettin’ will occupy the evening. All y’all take care now.

Oh, I will see it, but it is not the same as the Toho films of old.

Have you ever seen the original Godzilla? I mean the REAL original, not the reworked version that put the Western actor Raymond Burr in it. When the film was made he was not there. But the US distributors wanted a round eye for Western audiences, so they chopped out seventeen minutes, had some new scenes filmed(not with the original cast, mind you) and inserted the new footage into the movie. The cut scenes were important if you could see them, they really added to the somber feel of the film. They even did not make it apparent the the moody scientist hero that developed the ultimate weapon suicided at the end, kind of like Arnies character in Terminator II.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Playoff hockey tonight.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin out and dark (TWPTB say clear) with a predicted high of 85 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. This mornin’ I shall be goin’ to pick up catfish filets for tomorrow night’s fish fry and takin’ 'em over to the church house. They are frozen but should thaw out nicely in da fridge. Then I shall make copious amounts of coleslaw for said fish fry. Thanks to the marvelous chopper attachment thingy on my Kitchen Aid mixer that won’t take a whole lot of time. Sup shall be tacos 'n fixin’s (OLÈ!)

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, bother of bothers, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Life can be so difficult!

Happy Thursday Y’all!

I’m in the office. I’m more or less awake. It’s my Firday, so there’s that.

Roxy can be entertaining in the car. I can’t see her, since she’s in the back seat facing backwards, but I try to talk to her anyway. Occasionally, she’ll make some “hoo-hoo-hee-hee” sounds - reminds me of LaMaze classes! She was especially chatty this morning, so I’m guessing she was well-rested. Lucky her.

We got our Fed refund yesterday, just in time to send it and more to the state. And that’s not even considering the estimated taxes for next year. Stoopit taxes. Why don’t we just have a Federal sales tax and be done with it?

Happy Thursday anyway.

Morning, all. It’s 286.45 Kelvin, wind is is at Mach .0149 coming from my left.
Pre-workout consumed, heading for the gym soon.
Last night, cycling home from a track meet on a dark country road. Into my headlights floats a barn owl, looking for a snack in the deep grass on the shoulder. The gliding, pale color and short glimpse (3-4 sec.) made it almost ghost-like.

Happy Thorsday!

A chilly 45 degrees outside (remember when 45 was warm?). The cat was cold when he brushed up against my leg when I let him in.
Supposed to get up to around 63, so nice enough to go outside and do things.

Since I took off last Thorsday and forgot to put myself back on the schedule for this Thorsday, I decided to sleep in this morning. I think that was a good decision, the extra hour of sleep did me good.

Going to be another busy day.
I have my checklist and am slowly irking my way through it.

Morning all. Supposed to see 80F today, so another day without heating/cooling costs…we’ll see how long that lasts.

Soccer with the 10-/11-year olds tonight, but rain is forecast for Firday and Sattiday, so it may be all for naught. Still gets me out of the house.

FCM, I made out like a bandit this year state-wise, Alabama does not tax Federal retirement (the old pension) plans, so I got all that back from the state.

Cupcakes, never saw the original Japanese cut, but have seen a fair number of the kaiju movies that followed. Enjoy!

So a little house-tidying and probably nappage is in the plan. Is is too early for cheeseburgers?

{{{Sunny and mom}}} Hope she gets the care she needs… and be tenacious for her. It’s not an inconvenience for her to see the doctor; that’s what they’re there for!

We’re having freezing rain/snow/ice/sleet/hail/rain… basically, if it can fall from the sky, it’ll fall at some point today. I’m over it.

More adulting… more irking. Probably left overs tonight.

So leave at night, silly! Or wait until it’s raining.

When I had a project in Seville, where for half of the year most businesses will shut down before noon and not close back again until the sun goes down (and this includes all kinds of businesses, from professional offices to furniture stores), I would some times go for a walk at 3am. It was the only time I could walk briskly for over 1 minute without feeling like my muscles were trying to separate from my bones. The local cops thought I was weird but I think they eventually decided I wasn’t dangerously weird.

I hope Dazed Mom gets well soon.

I’m in the office today. I drank my 30 ounces of coffee on the drive in, and now I have the first of three or four 10-ounce cups of dark roast from the office Keurig machine. (The dark roast is from Trader Joe’s. There’s also some medium-roast organic Bolivian Blend from TJ’s. I reckon if I drink it, I should buy it for the office.)

blurfage irking. always irking. It’s just me and one other here today. I am trying to work on the budget since we are not insanely busy today. We shall see if I can concentrate enough to peer into my crystal ball and see the future.

Blurfage

And if God had meant for man to fly, we’d all have born with propellers on our noses.

I wrote a long post yesterday. I saw me do it. But it has disappeared.
Just as well. It was just a bunch of whining anyway.

Happy Thorsday y’all.

I survived the Auditor and actually aced the audit as I knew I would. I will be shocked if there is anything negative about my program in the final report. Thank God that is over now just to finish the budget…Wishful thinking. Not happening today.

sings Happy Thor’s Day to You. Happy Thor’s Day to youu. Happy Thor’s Day dear Mopers. Happy Thor’s Day to youuuuuuuuuuuu. (And many more.)*

[[[[[[[[[HUGS]]]]]]]] to everyone who has to irk today or go outside.

I might have to go down the hill later and sad cos it means putting on a bra. But it shouldn’t be for too long. Other than that today is day 5 of my current WIP and I’m on dangerous ground with it, so we’ll see what happens.

Just had a tornado drill at work… nice way to break up a 3-hour meeting.

Not a chance; this particular lower-life-form actually hates folks who solve problems before he gets involved — it stops him from claiming credit for having been such a wonderful leader. I actually got an informal (not written) warning from him for “taking initiative”. :smack: Only in our little slice of Heaven is such a thing considered “bad”.

On other notes; went shooting and am now much relaxed and sore of shoulder. For those who know – 60 rounds of 8mm Mauser from a carbine. For those who don’t know ---- I have somewhat of a bruise. Watch; tonight I’ll get to fluid-unload a couple trailers.
