I freakin’ love kaiju movies! I grew up watching them on Saturday mornings. The first nightmare I can remember, probably when I was about four years old, took place at night in a wet, deserted warehouse/dock area, and I was being stalked by a giant monster (that looked like it was made of poo). I hunkered down in the footwell of a car as it punched in the windshield and roof. I don’t remember how it ended.
Anyway, I have a small collection of kaiju, including Godzilla, Godzilla, King Of The Monsters, Godzilla Raids Again, Mothra vs. Godzilla, Ghidorah: The Three-Headed Monster, Invasion of Astro-Monster, and Terror of Mechagodzilla. And that’s just the boxed set. I have Matango (aka: Attack Of The Mushroom People); The Mysterions; ‘The Toho Collection’ including The H-Man, Battle in Outer Space, and Mothra; and Destroy All Planets (Gamera vs. Viras). It’s a pity Mrs. L.A. would rather watch some 1930s English costume drama on TCM instead of something by Ishirō Honda.
RoxStar likes mushroom pizza! In reality, I haven’t found anything that she doesn’t like. Green beans seem to be a special favorite. Hope she doesn’t become a fussy eater.
Now that pizza has been ingested, I’m going to assume the crochet position and chill a bit.
Howdy Y’all! Been a pretty chill day for da bear. I got the fish and took it all over to the church house. Also took care of a couple other errands whilst out and about. I came back to da cave and chilled until time to make the tacos (OLÈ!) which have been consumed. Now the dishwasher is washin’ away and chill mode has resumed. Tomorrow I shall be bzzzy with a doc appt. in the mornin’ and then over to the church house to deal with the fish fry.
Butters yay for the audit A!
MetalMouse it’s never too early for cheeseburgers.
Nuts yay for happy bees. Also, I would definitely binge watch Downton Mothra.
Coach seein’ that owl had to have been both cool and spooky.
Ruble shame on you for takin’ initiative! Now get back to slackin’!
Mooooom, when I lived in Indiana, there were years that I paid more state tax than federal. Here in Tennessee, we have no state income tax.
WTG butters!
Got the crew sent off to our third party logistics center this morning. Then I did some more digging on some missing in house product and as of 4:10 this afternoon, I have a pretty good idea what happened.
Poor little Nelson. With everything in bud or bloom, he’s sneezing his fool head off. It doesn’t help that he has to sniff every blade of grass, roll in the clover and smell the blooms on the bushes. I think that’s what upset his little tummy today. I came home to puppy puke in the crate. He seems to be feeling his usual lively self though, so I’ll just keep an eye on him.
Re: my cough, I don’t know if I’m passed the worst yet, but last night was a horrible state of affairs. Up half the night almost choking, alternately on acid reflux, then on the dry cough. Bleargh!
Batboy, I’d give you a hug, but all things considered, I’ll settle for a ‘get well soon’ shouted from several miles away…
Soccer practice went well, but with rain in the forecast for tomorrow morning and pre-dawn Saturday, we might get our games rained out this weekend. We’ll have to see.
Dinner was from the King and internettin’ will occupy the evening.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis <snerk> 69! <snerk> Amurrkin out and partly cloudy (actually, totally dark) with a predicted high of 85 and cloudy for the day. It shall be a looooooooong day for da bear. Doc at nine-fifteen, then back to da cave to load up my outdoor cooker and copious amounts of coleslaw to take over to the church house. I intend to attend the organ recital/Stations of The Cross service at noon. This is the last one for Lent and I have yet to attend one due to life gettin’ in the way each week so far. This afternoon I shall cut fish filets into strips and do some general other stuff in the kitchen. We are gatherin’ at four to commence cookin’ up fish, fries, and hushpuppies and shall serve at six. After that comes clean up which won’t be too bad and we have volunteers for that. 'Twill be a fun time however and we have a good crowd expected.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother, I suppose I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ amongst the public attire. Such a hard life I have!
Up, showered, dressed, breakfasting on leftover pizza, and about to head out for groceries. The crew just arrived to form up and pour the driveway outside the new building. Oh, and I loaded and started the dishwasher. Productive for not-quite 7:30, eh?
It’s a cloudy 52 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 68 and rain later today.
Lots to do again today, as usual.

Ripple has gunky eyes every morning, I suspect it is the pollen.
Yesterday at the dog park, my first inclination is to say something rude but I bit my tongue.
First thing is, half the park is fenced off to get the grass to grow in that part. Also, all of the fixed benches have yellow tape around them as the park people have put brick in front of them and I guess they are settling, or something, so seating is limited. When I got there there was only one other person there. She was sitting at one picnic table in the pavilion, so I sat at the other one. Close enough that we could talk but not so close as to be intruding into her space. Gradually more people came, and older man that I see pretty often who sat down at the other end of her table, and a younger man who sat down on the same side at my table. More people came and gathered at the tables.
Anyway, the older man had brought a bowl for water, he filled it and brought it back to the pavilion. Some of the dogs drank, then his dog grabbed the bowl and walked off with it. Since the man walks with a cane I offered to refill it for him and he said no, he’d get it and he brought back more water. In the meantime, more people have come in, the picnic tables are filling up as are the benches that are not fixed in place. Lots of dogs and pretty soon the bowl is empty again, so I got up to fill it. I come back and some other woman has moved from one of the benches to where I was sitting, even though I had left Ripple’s leash there. So I come back and think WTF is this, you gonna jump into my grave that quick? I didn’t say anything though, just picked up the leash and sat on the other side of the table, and she gives me a dirty look. Well, excuse the f out of me.
Then I realized, I think maybe she is interested in the younger guy, which is probably a lost cause as I think he is either married or living with somebody because he is always talking about ‘their son’ and ‘we went grocery shopping’. Not that she has anything to worry about from me anyway, as I am easily old enough to be young man’s mother, and possibly old enough to be his grandmother.
However, that is all conjecture anyway, but I cannot believe she gave me a dirty look.
Sari, some people are so rude. I would have said something like, “Excuse me, I just need to grab my leash from where I was sitting,” as I reached over her. Then I would have talked to the young man about his kid.
My tooth is excruciating today, again. I don’t know what the hell happened to it. When this all started, it was a little cold sensitive and a small piece had come off. Now, hundreds of dollars later, I’m in such pain, I can barely think. I don’t know if I’m going to make it through the day at work, but I have to, since I missed Monday sick and I have deadlines to meet. I’m so glad I’m seeing an endodontist on Monday. He can take a look with his microscope and give a second opinion. There’s a possibility there’s a fracture in the remaining part of the tooth, then the tooth (and expensive crown) would need to be removed. If they broke my tooth while “fixing it;” I’m getting my money back, I’m getting the money my insurance paid them back, and I’m getting an implant. There was barely anything wrong with my tooth 2 months ago. Now, I haven’t eaten a full meal in weeks, I can’t sleep at night, I can’t focus on work. Depending on what the endodontist sees, I’m seriously thinking about suing them. And I’ve never sued anyone; I’m not the litigious type. But I am so damn miserable, frustrated, angry… I dunno.
Juliet, I’d be mad too; if you get the evidence, get after them, they may settle with you rather than face a lawsuit they’re sure to lose. Hope you finally do get relief.
Sari, could be she was ‘guilty’ about stealing your seat while you were doing a good deed, and transferred her self-guilt to you, making it ‘your’ fault in some way (sez the amateur psychologist). Think you handled it well, however.
Swampy, enjoy the cooking. Reminds me of my college years when I did restaurant work and Fridays’ were Perch nights, cooked so much fish…
Shady, go get’em!
Scribe, is the cat going into the closet because (1) It’s cooler there, (2) she’s having kittens or (3) is trying to give you assistance with your plot?
Slept until 8am because I can. Rain forecast for today hasn’t made an appearance yet, so soccer may be on for this evening. BLT’s are in my near future, along with pot and pan cleaning.
Howdy Y’all! Back from the doc and the vampires. Quick in and out today. YAY! In a bit I shall load up and head over to the church house. However, I just had to let y’all know that I am now in possession of a do it yourself colonoscopy kit. I shall perform said test Sunday night and get it in the mail Moanday mornin’. I called OYKW to tell him. He said, based on what he has seen, smelled, and heard I should have no problem completin’ the task.
SIL finally got Roxy down to nap - 90-ish minutes after I first tried. That kid did NOT want to go to sleep, despite being tired.
Driveway has been poured for the building. Groceries have been procured and stowed. And it’s almost time to think about lunch. This has been a busy morning.
I pulled out my guitar to play for Roxy and discovered that my left index finger is too stiff to do chords properly. I don’t think it’s arthritis. One thing that I know will loosen it up is holding a massager. I used to use one on FCD’s back when he’d get achy from working on our boat, and while I don’t like them myself, I found that the same vibrations that eased his muscles worked well on the muscles and joints in my hands.
Unfortunately, the nifty little massager we used to have died long ago, but I have a more clumsy plug-in model that should do the trick. It’s even got a heating element, so maybe a combination of vibration and heat will help. It’s kinda loud, tho, so I’ll have to wait till Roxy wakes up.
