Yep. Snowboarder Bo is a bit of a jerk for continually making a non-funny joke that annoys people. Others here are jerks for wailing and gnashing their teeth about Snowboarder Bo’s non-funny joke. There is nothing the slightest bit worthwhile to see here.

Turn off your monitors, everyone. Swivel your chairs around and position your head to stare at an undecorated portion of the wall. Sit quietly and reflect on how jaw-droppingly stupid all of this is. Feel ashamed.

I’ll add that something useful in such discussions is to realize that one’s experience (whether something is or is not funny, as an example) may not be universal among one’s cohort.

It’s odd to me that Snowboarder Bo’s catchphrase is so polarizing. But so it is.
(I’m already on record, more than once, that I do think it’s funny.)

If he didn’t, which I suspect is the case but cannot search for 3 letter words, that would put paid to the claim that it is simply an autocorrect of what he was going to type anyway, yet “forgot” it was going to be autocorrected.

That’s like expecting someone to ignore what color shirt someone is wearing or what food they’ve put on their plate–nigh on impossible for a certain type of person.

It must suck to be such an easily-upset busybody with one’s moods subject to the whims of anyone around. Perhaps I should be more sympathetic, but I can’t help but think it’s voluntary and the poor suffering whiner should force themselves to snap out of it instead of lashing out at others.

In meat space, “real life” as it is amusingly referred to…I can’t effectively be bullied, being the last living Master of Cringing Mantis Kung Fu. Similarly, someone who is entirely insensitive to the opinions of others cannot be bullied on the Internet. The troll craves the negative reaction, the lout is indifferent.

Bo, you cannot make a “catchphrase”. At least, you can’t do it effectively. Like when I first got on Board, I picked my username because it was familiar to me. Long, dull story, so never mind. Point is, never occurred to me that people would call me “luci” or “Lucy”. Which I ain’t exactly crazy about.

Those things happen because they happen, trying to make them happen is a fool’s errand. Got a nickel says that “All your base are belong to us” was a blunder, not an effort. If you don’t try, you may well succeed, but probably won’t like it. Nobody goes there anymore, its too crowded.

Below is a script for people who use Greasemonkey in Firefox or Chrome.

Replace any string on the SDMB. Especially useful for frequently occurring annoying phrases. (Especially powerful if you happen to know regular expressions, but still useful if you don’t)

Just edit the “var replacements = {” entry with things you would like to see replaced.

In the two examples below, the quarry-throwing phrase is always replaced by “LOL”. In the first example using a simple string, and in the second example using a regular expression in order to catch several possible versions of the phrase.
