Snowdome repair

I’ve been tasked (by my mom) to repair a snowdome that’s pretty much lost all it’s water (oil?). So, I figured I’d head out on the web and see if anyone has any tips. Wrong.
Google did alert me to the fact that there is a Snowdome Webring (Zounds! Alas, with some rather outdated pages), and as for tips on repair these pages all seem to point to the ‘Snowdome repair and Construction Service’, which is NOT a FAQ site, but some guy who makes/repairs domes. So no luck there.
Basically, anyone here have any tips (or know any good sites) on replacing the liquid in a snowdome?

This place fixed my Fargo snowglobe (the bottom of the display inside came undone from the bottom of the globe). It cost about $25.
Most of the repair sites don’t have a FAQ, but rather ask you to email them directly with your problem, so they can give you a price and time estimate.

Well, thanks for the site, but what I really wanted was a site that gave tips as to how to fix different types of globes (because this is glass, not the usual plastic ‘tourist’ dome, and I think the ‘icon’ is mounted in a kind of wax that keeps the liquid in [what is that liquid, anyway - is it water?]) since I’m fairly handy in terms of crafts (I like to build car & train models) and could easily do it myself IF I knew the best way to do it…I do miss ehow.
(hmmm, that sentence rambled on a bit).
