" Snowfighters" ??? Really, NYC ?????

You now have Disney’s attention, since you’ve inadvertantly leaked the title (and one of the working treatments) of the next short feature in the Frozen franchise.

Can’t get behind this pitting. Snowfighters is a common term for crews that deal with snow and ice removal on the roadways.

Deep breath, relax, and try to give a shit about something that matters.

Agreed… athough, I loved being able to bury those fuckers pushing their snow out into traffic while running over those fucking idiots on their bikes.

The NYC Sanitation Department is officially known as “New York’s strongest.” No I’m not kidding.

I suspect this is yet another way the right-wing media tries to divide people in “worthy” government jobs (cops and firefighters) from those evil job-killin’ government deep-state bureaucrats.

I’ve lived in New York for 38 years after living in Wisconsin for over 30. I still laugh at how overblown snowfall coverage is when a storm hits the New York metro area. Two or three years ago, my area of Long Island got 29" of snow. I have to admit that was a heck of a storm. But mostly the occurances of snow here are way over-reported.

What about sleet and freezing rain? Whiteout conditions?

And what about all the abuse they take from the damn Zamboni drivers?

It’s that Republican *global cooling *kicking in, burn more coal please.

The counter-intuitive prediction of climate scientists for Long Island is that we will have cooler and wetter weather than our previous norms. Why? Because melting artic ice will cause a layer of lighter and cooler fresh water to overlay the warm Gulf Stream waters we usually benefit from.

The cooler water will keep the goddamned Great White sharks away.

Poor Chief Brody needs a break already.

Garbage fighters, you mean.

Snowfighters sounds like they go around in their trucks throwing snowballs at people on the street, the little curs.

Are the NYC snowfighters accredited from The Snowfighters Institute?

Wrong island.

As the public works Chief at one duty station in MA, I was in charge of the airfield snow removal efforts. My call sign was “Snow King”. Wish I had thought of the term Snow Fighters at the time for my band of merry men.

Read the book. The motion picture was shot on Martha’s Vinyard, MA. Primarily in Edgartown though other areas were used as well.

Amity, Long Island, NY is the setting of the novel “Jaws”.

I stand by my post.

Since firefighters use water to fight fire, I can’t help but picture snowfighters as carrying around flamethrowers.

Where?

I read the book and didn’t remember that. Ok, no big deal.
