So admit it, are (still) sure Trump will not become the new president?

Why is Cameron so desperate, Trump is not the president, iirc wasn’t even presumptive nominee when Cameron used so harsh language?

OTOH, more than half the voters are women, and how many American women see a female striver that way? Many, I’m sure, but not a majority, not any more. The number pissed off by Trump’s misogyny must be far greater.

. . . utterly incoherent.

From my understanding of the electorial map I figured that any Republican would have no shot. Now that the Republicans are mostly united behind Trump and the Democratic left is saying they would rather have Trump then Hillary I’m slightly worried. As of now it looks like New Hampshire and Michigan may flip Republican so he certainly has increased his odds.

It was just as unlikely that he would become the GOP nominee as it is that he will become president. Welcome to the End Times, my fellow Americans.

Clinton is inherently unadmirable. Had she divorced Bill after his numerous affairs, people might have sympathy for her. Because she didn’t, she seemed kind of like a fool, as admirable as Camille Cosby. All experience aside, people look for leadership and integrity in many ways. And I liked Bill. He was a good and intelligent leader. Of course if she’d divorced him, she’d have lost that name recognition. She won’t win against Trump, and I think Trump is an idiot. A conniving one, but still an idiot.

I voted “No, I’m not worried even the slightest, because I know there is no way in hell he will be elected” when I’m really between that and “I thought “no chance”, but I’ve been growing a little worried lately.” I’m not 100% certain that he won’t win, but I’m fairly certain he won’t win, considering the polls and how many immigrants are registering to vote in order to vote against him. And considering how his reaching out to Hispanics so far has been tweeting a picture of him eating a taco bowl. Granted, polls have been wrong so far, and I don’t like what it says about America that he’s done as well as he has, but I’m still fairly certain he won’t win. Like I would bet some money on it by not a huge amount of money on it.

And while Clinton does have high unfavorables, there are plenty of people who do like her. She was named the most admired American woman for 20 years. Lots more people voted for her than Sanders. She won’t win by a landslide, but I think she’ll win.

Also, it seems that the overall electoral map is much more favorable to Democrats in general for the presidency. I’ve just skimmed the thread so maybe someone else has mentioned this, but considering the votes in the red states and blue states and how the swing states are leaning, Trump just will have a harder time getting the votes he needs.

Forgiving someone or not taking things to heart are good qualities. Even though I am a Trump supporter, I am not going to hold it against her if she did not divorce.

I just don’t get it. Most of what I hear is “he says what he says, and I like that. It’s what America needs.”

What the hell does that even mean? Democracy has failed. We’ll get what we’re asking for, that’s for sure, because he says what he says, and that’s what we need, because he says what he says.

Where are you getting info that Michigan and New Hampshire may flip Republican? Everywhere I’ve seen, they’re solidly Hillary, and the head-to-head campaigning hasn’t even begun yet.

The possibility I worry about is that ISIS will pull an October Surprise. They want American intervention in the Middle East so they can fight the final war between Islam and the rest of the world. And they can see that Trump is the kind of reckless idiot who will send those troops.

So I think it’s possible ISIS is planning a major terrorist attack right before the election in order to scare people and panic them into voting for Trump before they calm down again.

I think that if there’s a terrorist attack, Hillary probably benefits. Unlike typical Democrat vs. Republican match-ups, this particular Democrat polls much better on security and terrorism than this particular Republican.

The only caveat to that is if the attack becomes viewed through the lens of immigration instead of terrorism. But I think that would require the attacker to be a refugee, which is very unlikely given that it’s far easier to just come in on a tourist visa, over-stay a visa, sneak over the Canadian border, etc.

Nope. No way, no how, forget it.

We haven’t even had the debates yet. Come election day, the largest majority in the history of elections will not vote for Trumpy Wumpy because they won’t want a president who greets other world leaders with noogies.

Am I concerned about a Trump Presidency? Definitely. Am I worried it will happen? A little, not very. I have confidence in the demographic advantage of the Democrats.

What worries me is that the American voter is clearly using a different set of criteria to evaluate candidates now than they have in the past. Donald Trump picked up on this fact before anyone else in the campaign did. The democratic strategists might be telling themselves that the GOP field was weak, and it was. But when your top pick is almost as unpopular as Trump, what exactly gives them the confidence that they’re in any better position?

Hillary Clinton should win, but demographics alone won’t guarantee her a victory. She, with the help of prominent progressives like Barack Obama, Elizabeth Warren, and hopefully a more forgiving Bernie Sanders, will have to unify and hit the hell out of Trump on his vulnerabilities.

A terrorist attack would benefit the candidate who demagogues the issue to death, which is Trump.

Trump is also a boastful womanizing letch who almost certainly has never been faithful to any of his wives. Clinton has him beat all hollow as far as that aspect of personal moral character goes.

Last summer, I laughed my ass off that he was a candidate and was enjoying the circus. But now I am worried. Trump is a master marketer and he is using those finely honed skills to convince the American electorate that he should be President. Given how dumb much of the electorate is, I won’t be surprised if he pulls it off.

Take a look at what the world thinks of the Donald. Some have even gone so far as to vote on banning him from traveling to their country. (good for them) He does have one supporter though, Putin has endorsed him. There might be a message in all that for you.

I really wouldn’t worry about that too much. Even the Republican party is scheming to keep the Donald out of the WH.
