But the sheriff followed them, and nearly drove them off the road.
So…they slammed on the brakes.
But of course the sheriff was in their car, so they had no brakes.
So…they jumped in a convienant river.
But in their panic, they forgot that some of them didn’t know how to swim.
So…they grabbed on to a large turtle
But…there were too many of them, and they started to sink, turtle and all.
So…the turtle flipped over…
But…its bottom was too slippery to hold onto.
So they plunged into the water going down down down all the time wondering if there were perhaps more turtles farther down they could clutch onto
But no matter how many turtles they encountered, they never reached the last turtle because… well, you know.
So…they started grasping jelly fish.
But…the jelly fish proved to be too slippery, and a poor choice as flotation devices.
So…They grabbed kelp.
But…by that time they were in white rapids, which swept them away, rapidly.
So…they flailed wildly.
But…along came a friendly octopus that grabbed each of them with a tentacle.
So… once again we recieved help.
But… the octopus itself was flailing, since it didn’t belong in a fresh-water river.
So…we sent out for a barrel of salt to pour in the water.
