So, I got called by Gallup (polls) this evening.

Weird. I’ve done lots of phone surveys, but never one for, y’know THE phone survey folks. It was political, of course. Lots and lots of questions, most of them with highly unsatisfactory multiple choice answers to choose from. (“Do you think that, generally speaking, the media is too liberal, too conservative or just about right?” Umm…how about “A fucking farce of mummery and anointed sound bites, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing?”) I didn’t get to tell her that Jon Stewart is a better “journalist” than anyone who actually carries the degree, but I did get to say I’d vote for Obama. She actually had 8 candidates she said were “likely to be on several state ballots”, including at least 3 people I’d never heard of. Apparently there’s a chick running for the Green Party? Who knew?

I look forward to my .0000001% point being counted in the nightly news tomorrow.

How 'bout you? Ever get called? Ever slip something subversive and clever in there? Or do you just hang up?

I got called in July. You know how the polls say that college-educated people who call themselves extremely liberal are likely to vote for Obama?

That’s me.

I dunno, they almost certainly have a sample population under 10,000 and probably not much more than 2,000. You might be worth .05%!

They called me in late January. They’re one of the few polls I’ve actually taken.

Most non-personal calls are interrupted with “I’m not interested. Please take me off your calling list,” after which I hang up.

I thought of all the subversive stuff after I hung up, of course. :dubious:
