I keep seeing it on the news… Mt Lemmon is on fire, Summerhaven evacuated… I hope my favorite camping spot is ok
And then I hear about an industrial park explodijng? But CNN is telling a national audience so I have no idea what part of town it is in (I’m assuming near I-10 somewhere?)
So I know there are other people from Tucson here… could you fill a girl in?
Well, the Bullock fire is 60% contained, and I have no idea about the industrial park. Can’t find a thing about it. Of course, I’ve been exhausted and oblivious for a couple of days.
I had a chance to drive around to the north side of the Catalinas the other day; the fire is truly impressive. Looks like the end of the world.
I’ll be following the the Daily Star to see if they pick up the story.
I’m not in Tucson, but since I also have family and friends in the Tucson area (but not near the fire), I’m trying to keep up with what’s going on. All I am finding about the wildfire is a report from the Arizona Daily Star and an update from the Tucson Citizen.
Also, do you have any more information yet on this industrial park? I haven’t heard anything about this nor found anything online yet.
I went to that link to the Star and started reading. I was confused.
“Is this some lame-ass poem about the fires??” I asked myself… here is a snippet of this ‘bad poetry’:
The worst is over, say officials
Fire chars a little piece of all Tucsonans’ hearts
Blaze yielding upper hand
Flying big air tankers takes special skills
Bad news for fire control blows in today
Floods could be next big trouble
Fire will burn
Waiting for the winds
Behind-the-scenes nerve center
Haze’s full health effects may not show for weeks
Then the light bulb clicked on. I was thrown because the site is set up to not underline links. Each of those lines was a link to a news story. The text was the headline of the story. Man, I feel stupid
