So is Luann about to lose her virginity?

Unless this has been taken up in a separate thread…
Brad and Toni were going to a wedding planning meeting, and Toni suddenly got out of the car and left. This even after T. J. took little Shannon off her hands. Is she chickening out of getting married?
(If this IS a topic for a different thread, feel free to redirect me.)

More likely overwhelmed by lists for the time being.

I’m betting on a set-up for an elopement.

At the last minute.
Who the hell is Shannon?

I bet that is a Good Call.

Shannon is Toni’s niece by her deadbeat brother.

Is the deadbeat brother TJ? WHo are her parents?

Nah, he’s a single dad “actor” who flakes off for auditions and whatever at random times and drops the kid on Toni. Just had him in the strip a couple of days ago. I think it was the first time I actually saw him. Others can say if he’s been shown before the talent show. No mother has been mentioned.

This is exactly what I thought. The “big wedding” theme needs to be reserved for Luann.

Luann broke up with Quill, has no current BF, and spent this morning’s strip debating the melodic lines of the “ABC Song” versus “Twinkle, Twinkle.” I don’t see matrimony in her near future.

I agree that Toni’s current mindset is probably “Big wedding AHHHHHH NO” rather than “What am I thinking, getting married to Lumphead here?” I predict they steal away for a cheapo wedding in Tiajuana.

After the wedding night and her first taste of Brad’s lovemaking, Toni steals away at dawn and takes a job down at the Donkey Show.

I agree that they’re heading for an elopement (or else a small ceremony at The Fuse).

I don’t get all the Brad hate, though. I never liked him when he was just Luann’s lunkhead brother, but ever since the whole 9/11 thing when he became a firefighter, I see him as a good, responsible guy with a good head on his shoulders. He’s going overboard with this whole wedding thing (nice role reversal, though–usually it’s the woman who does that) but aside from that I think he’ll make Toni a good husband (and they’ll end up adopting Shannon when Deadhead Jonah either runs off or gets himself killed).

Before Toni shrugs Brad off as “Lumphead” she should ponder this thought: Look at his taste in women.

I don’t think she will. I think she still loves him and wants to marry him–she’s just overwhelmed by all the planning.

Brad is groomzilla. If they don’t elope then they won’t get married.

Simple solution: Toni tells Brad to handle all the arrangements himself. Her job will be to get a flower girl outfit for Shannon and some sexy lingerie for the honeymoon. Even better: have TJ arrange for everything.

This is the solution.

Yes, I think Brad really stepped up his game and I like him now. I think Toni is smart to pick such a devoted, level-headed and sweet guy as Brad. And of course she loves him. Just too much Jonah / Shannon / wedding nonsense. She needs basics only, not a bunch of hoopla.

This is perfect. Brad can groom out and for once, the bride only has to show up.

Whoops! Also meant to address this, but I didn’t mean Luann would be zipping down the aisle anytime soon. Just that for readers, you only need something like that to be “one and done” or otherwise, it’s not as interesting. So, sometime in the future, Luann will tie the knot and then she’s the one that gets to reap all the sweet, sweet fanfare. That’s all.

Worst of all possible outcomes?

Luann starts doing more theater. Jonah becomes a regular in the strip and starts romancing her.

Ugh, that would be creepy. But Luann’s way too smart to fall for a guy like Deadbeat Jonah. She’s seen (or heard about) his true colors too often.
