Access to five star restaurants and you don’t pick Ted? That’s the definition of insanity.
Ted, please order for me.
Peace.

While I agree that Kyan is the best looking, he appeals to me the least, personality-wise. I suspect he’d think I was a mess, using all the wrong products, and would make me get my hair cut.
Ted would be great to go out to dinner with, and talk about food. Jai would be the pour your heart out, tea and sympathy, sweetheart pal type friend. He seems really, truly nice. Thom is so funny, with those campy accents he puts on; I think he’d be fun to hang out with, though I know he’d disapprove of my digs. Carson is the incarnation of The Bitchy Friend. I always have at least one; I love them but I fear them, and Carson would be no different. At least he would tell me the truth if I asked him if my ass looked big in those jeans.
Overall, honestly? I’d hang out with any/all of them. They are awesome (yeah, I’m a fangirl). Viva La Fab Five.
Oh, man, I’d never seen it before…but you’re right.
Straight White Dude here, but if I was in Venice…c’mon, it’s gotta be Ted. He’d know what to order, what to avoid, and what wine goes with what.
Now that I think about it, he looks like Alan Ruck too.
Eerie…
I have to say I like Jai’s attitude, although I do tend to go for the more gentle, mischievous fairy type than Bitch Attack Fairy (now with Real Balls Grip™) aka Carson. Kyan is superficially hot, but just… not enough personality there IMO.
Straight White Male here, and I would spend serious time hanging with Ted and Thom. They would be great buds. We could argue food and wine forever. I already yell at the TV whenever Ted goes on one of his “Caviar or Pate” binges. C’mon, Ted. Nobody really eats that shit. Cook real food, dammit! Kyan I see as a drinking buddy, or the guy I play racquetball with. Jai leaves me cold, and I think I know several Carsons already.
Thom would be my first choice, mainly because I love it when someone calls me “Punkin”. Ted is number 2, because I know, deep down in my heart, that he doesn’t eat all that fancy stuff either and what he really needs is some genuine Italian home cookin’.
OK, somebody link me to some photos. I’ve seen the show maybe twice.
I’m straight, but I’ll play. I think the food guy (Ted?) was the coolest. Seems like he’s got a wise-ass sense of humor.
I refuse to believe I’m the only one here who LIKES the “hot young guy who is probably wild in the sack” look. I REFUSE.
JAI
It’s a landslide. I’m shocked almost nobody else is saying so.
Another vote for Ted. He’s kinda cute (I like the glasses), plus he has a great wry sense of humour. Despite the fussiness over food, he’s very masculine and confident.
Actually I’ll go out on a limb and say I’d pick Ted over any of the others. Kyan looks and acts like a less muscular version of a guy I used to go out with, so that rules him out. I don’t like Thom’s hair and general drabness and Jai is too young (well, possibly older than me, but still).
Carson would make an awesome friend, but I wouldn’t be able to get it up for such a nellie queen.
Another straight female and another vote for Ted checking in. I adore him - funny, clever, great taste - I’m gutted he’s gay. But I do find it so lovely that he’s been with same guy for so may years, and yet his face still lights up whenever he mentions him.
Second choice would be Jai, he’s adorable. And I think we’d have so much fun taking in the shows and going dancing together.
Kyan is tied for third with Ted for me. First place is Thom, then Jai.
Have you ever seen Amy Sedaris?
Hmm…now that you mention it…
But to me she’s kind of the reverse of Carson in one sense: She started out bugging me and now I think she’s kind of cute.
'Nother straight guy checking in.
I’d hang out with Thom or Carson any day. Tim could be fun, too.
Kyan is the guy I kept forgetting about when I first started watching and was trying to keep the characters (pardon the expression) straight.
I’m not seeing it, I’m afraid. Chances are, he reminds me of someone I know. I tend to find (or perhaps assign) the characteristics of my friends and family members in famous people (Matthew McConaughey reminds me of one friend, Richard Gere like another … you get the idea). I do the same when I’m on vacation and don’t know anyone.
Kyan doesn’t quite do it for me. He’s attractive, that’s for sure, but just a little too… I don’t know, perfect. His personality is a little flat, too.
Nah, I’d much, much rather spend my time with Ted. I’m a chef and love to talk food–and he’s someone I know I’d have long, fabulous epicurean conversations with him. I like the dry wit, and I’m a sucker for a guy in glasses.
Or Jane Horrocks (Bubbles from AB-FAB).
Since you’re the only Doper I know in the Waking and you’re straighter than the road to hell and I know your girlfriend, this (and your selection of Jai— really…no wonder you’re straight) is just too weird… must-return-to-normalcy…
There. I just shot off a bitchy e-mail slamming Tim. I’m fine again.
