So um, this is not going well so far

Maybe this is intentional. Maybe Shep can get away from that rotten sinking ship of trump bubble heads and be real news somewhere else.

Obama was supposed to throw us all into FEMA camps. May as well put 'em to use.

Perhaps a more modest proposal?

I think that only works for the little kids.

Who says the Trump administration doesn’t work quickly. With scarcely 4 weeks in office, Trump has achieved a bench mark that it took Obama almost 6 years and 9 months to reach, and in all likelihood in the next few days will go beyond what Obama was ever able to achieve.
Trumps approval rating is now 38% with 56% disapproval (net -18). Which now ties the lowest approval (and net approval) that Obama got in his entire presidency.

For some reason, I thought it was a fact that Flight 77 (the one that crashed into the Pentagon) had initially been on a course for the environs of the Capitol, and changed course for the Pentagon at not quite the last minute, but fairly close to it. I can’t find anything about that now, so I guess I remembered incorrectly.

As predicted by moi, way back during his campaign when he was talking about cleaning up the inner cities starting on day one. The only conclusion I could draw from that was ‘martial law’. Hopefully posse comitatus, as enacted by Rutherford B. Hayes, will prevent this sort of military occupation of our streets.

Well, you don’t have the buildings available in the right places… you’d have to have something you could assemble really quickly. Modular tents, surrounded by fencing, of course… camps, if you will. Yes, camps. You’d want to keep all those people in a relatively management space, of course. Concentrate them, shall we say. In camps.

Still takes up too much space, and ya gotta feed 'em. Maybe there’s some other solution, some ultimate, last, conclusive solution.

A hint was given during the campaign. If you dismantle the parks service, then you have places such as Manzanar to “process” the [del]“internees”[/del] “detainees”.

Even Trump doesn’t want to go too far on enforcement and using the National Guard is probably going too far. Unleashing ICE though, that’s fine. Funny thing is, you’d never hear complaints about any other government enforcement unit utilizing every legal tool at their command.

It is truly unprecedented, considering that no one has ever spoken in anything less than glowing terms about the IRS, the SEC, the FDA, the EPA, and every other government agency that has never, ever been accused of overreach.

Sorry, I have a hard time keeping up. In what specific ways is ICE currently ‘leashed’?

Aye; remember that time the POTUS proposed using the National Guard to round up truant school kids? Why, the nation positively cheered the idea!

And how about that time they started busting all the backyard farmers for interfering with interstate commerce? The celebrations were surely nearly non-stop for that!

Do you have data on this? NIMBYism is pretty common, which would seem to point in the opposite direction.

In any case, it’s awfully convenient that these decisions, which risk the water supply of the central USA, are being made by East Coast companies.

Trump recently authorized the use of dogs with bees in their mouths so that when they bark they shoot bees at you. I saw a video of it on Fox.

Hard to get hard evidence about it, though it’s the sense I got from reading about it. Most importantly you’ll notice that the political establishment in ND, Republican and Democrat alike, is opposed to the protests and in favor of the pipeline, which would be very unusual if local sentiment opposed the project.

FWIW, the sense I get is that the protests against the DAPL are a local issue that spiraled out of control when they got seized on by outside leftist groups. [Dave Archambault (tribal Chairman of the Standing Rock Indian Reservation) was initially a hero of the anti-DAPL movement when he led the initial opposition, but he later turned against the protestors and is now known as “DAPL Dave” in certain circles, having been found insufficiently committed to the cause.]

This may be a nitpick, but I believe ETP is based in Dallas. I’m not aware that the major pipeline companies are “East Coast” companies, and in general they tend to be based in energy-producing sections of the country.

Nice data. Nice cite.

You have a fucking “sense” of it from reading about it.

Jesus. The Trump Method of arriving at conclusions by just making shit up is really getting popular.

The person I was contradicting also provided no evidence. In that context, one guy’s unsupported position is as good as another.

But I, at least, did provide something in observing the political situation. I notice that you left it out, as this better suited your purposes in claiming that I was making stuff up.

Not surprising, to be sure. About par for the course for those of your ilk. Go back to yelling about Trump. Maybe find a guy with a Trump cap on and attack him, that’s the ticket.
