So what are you thankful for?

I don’t mean the kind of things that are important to all of us – family, love, life. Share something more personal and specific that you are grateful for.

I’m alive and well in my first semester of graduate school and pulling an A average!

FIRE!

the late great Phil Hartman as Frankenstein on SNL

I’m also thankful that I have the kind of family that actualy likes each other. Mom, Dad, Sibs, Cuz’s, Uncles/Aunts/Nephews/Neices… Really knid of nice. And not too common, if I read my friends and workmates correctly.

I’m also thankful I complete use of my senses and faculties (except my brain) without any enhancement. No glasses, no dentures, no blood pressure meds, almost all my hair, in decent enough shape… (I’m forty in two months)

I’m thankful I got a new job this month (after being out of work since July), with a type of work that I’m experienced and interested in, decent pay and benefits, and apparently opportunities for advancement as well. I’m also thankful for the support of my husband since I was laid off (and before of course) and how he stands by me.

I’m thankful that I have Gunslinger.

I’m thankful that I have a paycheck every week, and bosses who don’t begrudge me the fact that I’ve been sick for three weeks straight and in fact thanked me profusely every time I felt well enough to come in. (I’m better now, and thankful for that, too!)

I’m thankful that I have $2.36 in cash right now. That’s $2.36 more than I usually have.

I’m thankful for my Jeep Cherokee and all the stuff I’ve hauled in it. I’m less thankful about its fuel consumption, but I’m very thankful for its superior handling and performance when put in 4WD on icy or uneven roads.

I’m thankful for my warm socks that keep my tootsies warm, too.

Let’s see…this year I lost my job, my wife left me, I had to move from a nice house to an apartment in the ghetto, and my Dad died. I don’t think I’m going to be giving much thanks this year.

I am thankful for technology. Despite all the evils that can be developed from technology, it has done so much good.

Wow Badtz, that’s rough. I can’t say I have it as bad as you, but I can’t come up with anything other than “at least I eat every day”.

The Cosmic Peephole. Endless entertainment.

For example, "The Teeming Millions [are] thinking “Imagine if chickens could dance. Imagine!”

Oh my.

Sigh. That should read: “The Teeming Millions [are] thinking ‘Imagine if chickens could dance. Imagine!’”

Why don’t I ever preview?

I’m grateful for finding a forum where the IQ is above six. And I’m glad that I broke my addiction to another forum that is cold, mean, ignorant and supposedly spiritual.

Badtz, I’m sorry this year has been so rough for you. I can’t imagine how you must feel. Here’s hoping that all of these stressful changes will lead to something good that you haven’t expected.

That I might be getting a job at Joann Fabrics. Yeah, it’s retail, but it’s a fabric store-and I’m taking up sewing and I can get a discount!

Our new little kitten, Piper.

I am thankfull I have a decent car to get around in. I am thankful I have a truck to get to work in. I am thankfull I have a decent job to pay for insurance for two vehicles.heck I am thankfull just to have a job…
