Things I'm thankful for

Just some things (large and small) I’ve been thinking about the last couple of days…
I’m thankful that I’m finally going to graduate from college in a few weeks.

I’m thankful that I have a decent job.

I’m thankful for this message board.

I’m thankful that my dog survived his mauling by a couple of Akitas, and made it through the subsequent surgery with flying colors.

I’m thankful that my sister and her kids will be able to spend the holiday with me.

I’m thankful for the people in New York, Washington, and the skies above Pennsylvania, who reminded me what true heroism is and gave me a reason to smile in the midst of so much sadness.

I’m thankful for all of the compassion and concern our friends around the world have shown us in the past few months.

I’m thankful for all of the people who have refused to give in to fear.

And most of all, I’m thankful that I’m just able to see the sun rise on a day like this, one that will be filled with mourning and reflection, but also with happiness and hope.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

[li]I am thankful for my family. I’m not getting to go home for Thanksgiving because of some things I need to do here. I will see them tomorrow, though…[/li][li]I am thankful for my friends. I have been blessed with wonderful friends.[/li][li]I am thankful for my health.[/li]I am thankful for all that God has done in my life this year. [/ul]

I am thankful for my friends and family, for living in the United States, for having enough food to eat and a warm place to live, for my pets, my neighbors, the SDMB, the whole Internet that brings people closer together, I could go on and on. . .

I’m glad I am alive to take this all in.

I’m thankful of my family, and I hope they pass a great day today. I won’t be able to see them now, I will have to wait some few weeks.

I’m thankful of my friends, new and old, I love them and their friendship. God bless them too.

I’m thankful of the (few) good teachers that I’ve had during this semester.

I’m thankful of the strangers (in life, in SDMB, in other message boards and chat rooms) that have helped me some way or another.

I’m thankful to God for being alive one more day.

Most of all, I am thankful that my siblings all live far far away from me and that I see them so rarely.

I’m thankful for SO many things! Here are some of them:

-Astrogirl, the perfect woman.
-good friends, both IRL and online (I love you guys!).
-I have a loving family, even if I don’t get to see them very often.
-things in my life seem to be going pretty well right now.
-my country has proven that it is strong enough to survive the hatred of some who want to destroy us.
-I’m alive in a beautiful and interesting universe.

There are lots more…

I’m thankful for recreational airplanes. (I can’t wait to learn how to fly…)

That’s about it since my life is a complete shithole.

I’m thankful that I’m able to be nearer to so many friends and family that I haven’t had a chance to see in several years.

I’m thankful that I have a good man like lurker in my life who shows me, regularly, why it’s important to date a friend rather than someone you barely know.

I’m thankful that Home of the Braves is happy with a man that she loves, and that even though she’s 1300 miles away from me, she’s still my best friend.

I’m thankful for a good job that I enjoy.

I’m thankful that my father is getting better in health, that my sister is starting her married life happy, and that my mother and I are seeming to get closer.

I’m thankful that I live in a wonderful, vibrant city that won’t let terrorism break them, and a wonderful country that proved, 2 1/2 months ago, that we really do care for one another after all.

And finally, I’m thankful for the friends I have made on this board, and the way they have picked me up when I was down, made me laugh when I was tired of crying, laughed with me when I was being silly, flirted with me when I was feeling saucy. I think this is one of the best communities on the board, and I’m ever so grateful to belong to it.

I’m thankful for:

The fact that this Thanksgiving all of my family will be gathered together, everyone is healthy and all enjoy truly peaceful and mentally wealthy lives.

Despite what has been happening in our world, we are still the most free society on this planet.

I have a ton of other things but those are small compared to the two above.

I’m thankful for my wonderful, intelligent, compassionate, witty husband.

I’m thankful for my children - how they are becoming likeable, worthwhile, intelligent adults. How they’ve never got into trouble. The way they bring their friends over to our house, because our house is the fun place to be.

I’m thankful for my dog. He’s the most perfect dog that could have ever been created, for me.

I’m thankful for my family and I’m glad they are all coming over today.

I’m thankful for how full and happy my life seems.

Life.

I’m incredibly thankful for Gunslinger. Every day that I live with his love is a gift.

I’m thankful for my friends. My high school buddies back in New York who still love me and who are planning parties to celebrate my return for this Christmas and next summer. The people here in Mississippi who have tried to make me feel at home. The people here on this board who have offered their friendship.

I’m thankful for my mother, who taught me how to cook and sew and who pays off my credit card every month.

I’m thankful for the friendship of the people who run the Chinese place in the student union, who give me free egg rolls.

I’m thankful for my fuzzy slippers.

I am thankful that neither me nor mine were killed in September.

I am thankful for my wonderful friends and my sweet Ryan!

I am most thankful and fortunate to share my life with a wonderful lady that you all know as FL Blues Baby.

I’m thankful for threads like this one, and for Scyllas electric fence thread. The threads that make me smile, laugh out loud, and enjoy myself while being lazy

I’m thankful to have a wonderful family, who, despite hardships and obstacles, has been able to succeed in every situation, and to provide for myself and my other family members.

I’m thankful for the brave soldiers who are across the world fighting the people who have taken so much from Americans everywhere.

I’m thankful for my friends, who have been there to support me for the past 21 years.

I’m thankful for my enemies, who have taught me many a lesson.

I’m thankful to be alive, and to have so many options,
though they can be confusing.

And I’m thankful for many other things, as well, and moving closer to the top of my list: an ice cold beer and an evening with the friends and family that I love.

I’m thankful that people will allow other people to take pictures of them naked for my enjoyment.

I’m thankful for a lot of things right now.

Chance, or fate as some would call it. And airlines.

iampunha stole my answer!

Well, half of it. The other half was going to be “brevity.” Er, but not as a connected concept, just as item two. But that’s shot now.

I’m also thankful for rambling.
