So what are your plans this weekend?

Cleaning and laundry, laundry and cleaning, lots and lots of cleaning

<sniff>

Not that there really was any line, but…

<sniff>

And here I am being nice and reading your Buffy fan-fic.

Besides, it may only be a few moments, but it’s a few moments of unfathomable pleasure…

If you swap “professional wrestler with the surname Hardy or Van Dam” for “nymphomaniacal heiress” and “him” for “her”, you have my usual weekend plans, hehehehe.
So far, I’ve cleaned the bird and lizard cages and the litter box. Now I have to finish cleaning the house and do inventory so I can go get groceries. I have to feed an eleven year old boy. I don’t think Garden Burgers and rice will do the trick.

I can’t wait to see my baby. Yes, he’s still my baby, even though he’s now taller than me. Just six more hours until he’s here…

Well, tonight I have to watch Farscape on the Sci-Fi channel.
Tomorrow, Mrs. B. wants to go to the Oregon state fair, and tomorrow night we had hoped to go out to dinner and catch up with some old friends, but they haven’t gotten back to us on that yet.
Sunday we had hoped to watch our 12-year-old grandson’s Babe Ruth League team, Cal Ripkin Division, (like Little League, only different) play in the Babe Ruth World Series game in Vincennes, Indiana, but his team lost yesterday, so they’re out. (The final game is the only one being televised, on FOX, IIRC.) So anyway, we’ll probably just clean the house, wash and vacuum the vehicles, have sex 10 or 12 times, the usual humdrum, everyday, old married couple stuff. You know.

P.S. If you followed the link to the team picture, it’s a lousy picture, but our kid is third from the left, back row. (I think)
P.P.S. They’re the National League, Pacific Northwest division champs.
P.P.P.S. It’s also a lousy website.

Saturday will be spent handing out the gifts I brought back from Vancouver. Saturday night will be “quality time” with carnie. Sunday will be catching up on work before the semester starts. Whoo hoo!

Oh… erm… well. Since you put it THAT way… ::pushing back into a throng of women:: 'Scuse me, pardon me, outta the way… pardon me… oops, sorry 'bout that… Yeah, right back at the front of the line. ::Settling back into a comfy lounge chair, pulling out a copy of ‘New Guide to Rational Living,’ and popping a few sunflower seeds::

(so whaddya think so far of the fic? :D)

ChiDope. There isn’t time, energy or effort enough for anything else.

Tonight (Friday 8/24/01) I’m going to listen to by boss play at Billy’s in Buckhead.

Any Atlanta dopers reading this? Billy’s is just north of The Roxey in Buckhead… right next to Rio Bravo. His first set is at 9:30 pm.

Plenty o’ parking in the back… which is amazing for those of you not familiar with Buckhead.

On saturday I will be umpiring in a high school tournament in south Atlanta. (I’m going to be SOOOO tired!)

On Sunday… I’m sleeping in!

Come on down to Billy’s!

ChiDope! Woo!

[hijack] Hey Maeglin, are you reading Karen Armstrong’s Buddha, by any chance? That’s what I’m reading now. [/hijack]

New York Comedy Club tonight,
then Webster Hall for a bit,

running and meditation tomorrow morning,

If the weather’s nice, bouldering in Central Park in the afternoon, maybe a movie saturday night,

Dancing at shelter on sunday day and some StarCraft on the net before bedtime that night.

Well, this morning I got up and met two grad school friends in the grad library. 9 am library time. A new record for me. Now I feel good about myself.

Tonight, we take Cranky Jr to a local fair to see the 4-Hers farm animals.

Tomorrow (Saturday), I go to see BareNakedLadies at an outdoor concert venue with some coworkers. Sunday, we go to the inlaws to celebrate multiple family birthdays, mine being one of them.

Sunday night, we begin frantically clean the house because our housekeeper comes on Monday, and it’s been four weeks. Things are scary.

I am indeed. Though I am a bit disappointed that she doesn’t actually know Pali, I think the biography is brilliant overall.

Sat. - pick up Krispy Kremes, drive west until road ends and ocean begins, sit on Santa Monica beach for a few hours,
stroll down 3rd Street Promenade, eat something good, watch the sun set into the Pacific, drive home, sleep the sleep of heavenly angels.

Sun. - rub lotion on sunburned skin, nap, catch a movie

Heading home to the parents home to dog sit while the parents are at the shore and the sister is at the bachelorette party in Las Vegas.

Saturday is the meeting with college friends I haven’t seen in a Hell of a long time for an evening of laughter, and role playing games.

Sunday is the meeting with high school friends I haven’t seen in a Hell of a long time for an evening of laughter and role playing games.

So basically it will be a weekend of laughter and role playing games. Works for me!

I plan to continue exploring Seattle and surrounds. Saturday morning I get my hair cut (new stylist – yikes!)and Saturday afternoon I’m going to the zoo with a friend – woohoo! I’ve never been to the Seattle zoo and haven’t been to any zoo in years. Saturday night, walk the dog, who will have been cooped up all day.

Sunday I ought to clean my house, but chances are good I’ll loaf around and read. I may take a drive if the weather is nice (which it’s supposed to be).

Tonight I’m meeting friends for drinks after work, and I imagine that will include dinner – at least it will for little old single non-cooking me, even if dinner is an appetizer.

Mostly I’ll be thrilled with what I’m NOT doing: NOT moving or unpacking and NOT studying for a big honkin’ exam.

Hmmm… I’m assembling a coffee table I just got from IKEA. That should take approximately 26 hours (according to the box). The leftover time I might cut up some old pictures of ex-boyfriends and violently clean my apartment. Of course, I’ll have to watch the Sunday night movie to quietly end the weekend. I’m really looking forward to it. If I get risky, I might eat a sandwich.

I’m going to Belfast.

Kind of a silly reason, really. If I stayed in Dublin, because of events going on here this weekend, I’d be 99% likely to run into the guy that just dumped me a few weeks ago. If I get out of town this weekend, I almost definitely won’t run into him for another month, by which time I fully intend not to care. So I’m going to Belfast (a city I love and haven’t spent enough time in lately anyway) so I can enjoy myself this weekend. For once.

If I don’t get shot that is

Pay bills, moderate you clowns on the board, wish upon a star …

Sure, after that tango at the Duplex, you refer to me as a clown?
I’m officially pouting now, Euty.

Going to Edmonton to watch Les Miserables

I have no idea what to expect. I’m not much of a “cultured” man.
