So what did you call /your/ iPod?

Just initiating my new iPod Shuffle and it unexpectedly asks me to name it - who knew?

So my mind jumps iPod - pod bay doors - 2001 - HAL! So it is officially HAL 9000, at least for the while.

What did you call yours and why?

Mine is named “Runaround Sue” because I like old rock and roll, and, obviously, because it’s portable, so it “runs around”.

I thought long and hard about it and named mine “Slacker’s iPod.”

My first iPod was “My Fabulous iPod” and my 2nd iPod is “My Fabulous iPod2”.

Bow down before my creative genius.

Ocd101.9.

I was rather surprised when it asked me to name my iPod during installation so I named it the first thing that came to mind. Since I had been watching “Seinfeld” not too long before I named it “Kramer”.

Mine is named Beezus. I got the name from the Ramona Quimby books.

Mine’s called Elgie. Because it’s little and green.

OK, I sorta blanked.

I kept the ID it came with: JQ4191UKPNU, it seemed appropriate for the technological age

Ok I renamed mine with a new secret identity. It is now: Ron Mexico.

Grundypod

Only because the car stereo adapter for it insists that it have a name.

The Money Hungry Biacth :stuck_out_tongue: It’s always wanting just another $0.99 . . .

It’s a shared unit, populated with a disgusting quantity of my girlfriend’s broadway and torch-song pseudo jazz albums (OK, I’m becoming rather fond of the Patricia Barber) and an almost sufficient set of my own selection of acid rock, / hard rock / new age instrumental. Oh, and we mostly agree on the classical, although she’s got a nasty Mozart thing going and fails to sufficiently appreciate Vaughn-Williams and Holst.

It’s Our Pod.

Mine is Bob

I have a first generation iPod named Menchi (emergency rations!) and an iPod shuffle named Random Dent.

Heh. All four of my computers and my iPod are named Hal.

PiePod

Strangely, my first iPod was called ‘Oswald’s Lovely iPod’ and my current one is called ‘Oswald’s Lovely iPod II’.

It’s a veritable swamp of creative juices where I’m sitting…

(Following the theme, my computer’s called ‘Oswald’s Lovely Powerbook’, my phone’s called ‘Oswald’s Lovely Phone II’ and so on…)

OB

iGor.

Could be worse, could be raining.

Good one!

“Zoe”

I tend to give my electronic devices girls’ names. For years I had a laptop named “Lolita”.
