So what do you (if you do) smoke?

On a board such as this, with refined individuals such as yourselves, I have to ask…

What do you smoke…?

I myself enjoy Rum Runners cigars, Camel Exotics on occasion, and when I’m desperate or in-a-pinch (read: broke) I enjoy Garcia Vega “Pops” (the little ones by the checkout at local gas stations)…

I have found that the Island Collection flavored cigarellos are great for the price, but I don’t get to buy them as often as I like…

so what about it dopers, what do you smoke?

pot. and lots of it.

I try to pretend that sweetened and flavored cigars don’t exist. It’s like mixing a fine single-malt Scotch with Coke. Some things are best unadulterated.

I like Punch cigars - every bit as good as an H. Upmann at significantly less cost. When available the Rare Corojo is my first choice. The Gran Puro is pretty damned good, too.

When I want to get extra special, I go for a Montecristo Afrique.

I’ll have a cigar now and again; I enjoy a Macanudo or Punch. I’ll also have a Backwoods occasionally. My brother got me a pipe for christmas, and I put some Buttered Rum flavored tobacco through it on cool evenings.

I’m definitely a Macanudo guy, although I smoke cigars very rarely.

When I smoked ciggies I always smoked Djarums or, occasionally, one of the flavored Camel brands.

Muthafuckas, like it ain’t no thang.

ditto what dmatsch said

funny.

I used to smoke Winstons.

Now, the occasional cigar but no brand in particular.

Used to be Camel Lights, Dunhill milds and Virginia Slims… an old girlfriend’s brand.

Now it’s just the occasional Montecristo or Macanudo. Been nail free for a decade and that’s the way I’ll stay.

Te Amo maduros. They’re Mexican but it’s hard to find them even here in Cali.

“Lucky Strike” Lights mostly but whenever I feel the need to be extra horrible to my body (and thus upping my “cool” facter  ) I buy a pack of the unfiltered.

Current rotation:

  • Dunhill Early Morning

  • Dunhill Nightcap

  • G&H Kendall Flake

  • G&H Rum Flake (my current favorite)

  • G&H Louisiana Flake (virginia and perique)

I will partake in a Macanudo every once in a while. Usually at our beach house with a couple of mojitos. Summer, come quickly!

Mainly Camel Filters, occaisionally Dunhill International.

And whatever someone gives me. Unless it’s menthol.

pravnik’s response was hilarious. Bravo sir.

crack!

Ooh, I almost forgot (even though it’s not technically smoking). I’m starting up again on the snuff, and my first shipment arrived this evening. My brand is Wilson’s of Sharrow for most flavors, especially mentholated, except for Kendall Brown, which I think Gawith & Hoggarth does the best version of.

Does anyone else on this wide, lonely board partake of snuff (not snus), or am I all alone?

I like my pipe. Currently, I’m working my way through a tin of MacBaren’s Navy Flake, but other favourites include Dunhill Nightcap, and 1792 Kendal Flake. I won’t turn up my nose at a sweet Virginia Flake either, such as Paul Olssen’s “My Own Blend” No. 111.

I also like cigars. Cuban Bolivars are my choice, particularly the Royal Coronas, although any Bolivar is fine really. Romeo y Julietas to my taste as well. In terms of non-Cubans, Don Diegos are rather nice, as are Padrons.

I’ve always wanted to try it. Do you do the snorting kind? If so, can you make a brand recommendation that I can parse?

I regularly smoke 3 types of cigars in rotation (El Rey Del Mundo, Padron & Punch) and I have the Romeo y Juliet cubans for a treat.

I’ll also smoke the odd joint here and there.

I do indeed. Unfortunately, there’s only 5 or 6 companies making snuff these days. Wilson’s of Sharrow is my favorite, simply because they have the largest variety of flavors. I’m quite partial to their Crumbs of Comfort, which is spearmint-flavored with some other unidentifiable scents in there (I think I detect a bit of citrus). Most of their fruit-scented ones are quite nice as well, as are their SP blends.

Gawith & Hoggarth are better known for their pipe tobacco, but they started out as a snuff company, and still produce snuff. Their Kendall Brown is very good, being a snuff version of their Kendall pipe tobaccos, so it’s very floral but not excessively sweet, and you can still taste/smell the underlying tobacco.

I unfortunately haven’t tried any of the offerings from Fribourg & Treyer, McChrystals, or Pöschl, so I can’t recommend any of their blends.

www.snuffshop.com is where I get my supply.
