So what does one (well, many) actually DO on a "girls' night"?

Most of our girls are teetotalers 99% of the time. Strictly social drinkers who get loopy after two drinks. We get just fucking ridiculous and laugh our asses off. I have a big floodlight on our garage. I’ve been known to stand under it, on a milk crate, with my karaoke microphone, belting out Proud Mary like I was Tina Fucking Turner. At 2am. Yup, that’s some good livin’.

That is an almost perfect girls’ night, but if you’re really gonna go for it, make sure there’s a pole in the room.

See? This is what I’m talking about. GNO is an art.

And everyone has to share their stripper song. Almost all girls my age and a little older use “You Can Leave Your Hat On” - which, by the way, during a girls night out I climbed on top of a piano at a martini bar and sang - but mine is a Nina Simone song.

I wouldn’t say anyone in my group is a teetotaler, but we are definitely sillier when it’s all of us together. At the last one (the Cupid Shuffle one) my boyfriend came when called to pick me up and he showed up and said “do I need to get the wheelbarrow to get you?”
We also did the electric slide but I had to skip that one as I am terribly uncoordinated and did well to follow along in the Cupid Shuffle. I do think I’ll have to do the Cha Cha Slide at the next one. I must admit, having You Tube handy right there in the living room has introduced a whole new dancing element to the night. The pole is a good idea. I think we can try pole dancing and maybe belly dancing at the next one.

What does one do on a “girls’ night”? Same thing girls do every night. Try to take over the world!

Absent a pole, a nice high table will do.

We’re drinkers in my group. And dancers. And romancers.

My one sister in law, the one who drinks the least of all of us, will grab the mike and emcee the whole evening. Not just the songs and performers, but…

“Let’s give it up for Kahoun who’s going to the bathroom. Let’s hope she changes the toilet paper roll.”

“Introducing Kathy…a girl who has all the moves as she works her way back to the blender.”

We were “this close” to ending her one night.

heh.

Hahah, that sounds like an idea to keep for the next girls night in.

Hey, I was going to use that idea. I guess I’ll just scrap the whole idea, it’s not in the cards for me.

Shark week?

That’s too bad, they sound cute.
I like purple.

Sharks scare me.
