So, what will President Bush do once he's out of office?

We need a volunteer. Who’s that guy who waterboarded himself, what’s his name again…?

Yet another job for which he has absolutely no experience to draw upon.

First thing he’ll do is get a divorce and remarry. Then spend his days like Reagan did, milking the ex-presidency for every dime it can make him. Then maybe be a commentator for Faux News.

He’ll sell the ranch & move into a gated community in the Metroplex. One on a golf course.

Laura will spend lots of time in Austin. And with her mother. (Not The Mother In Law From Hell.) Occasionally, Laura & the twins will get together to drink margaritas.

Drugs and alcohol probably, but they won’t blot out the memories so he may have an “accident” that costs him his life.

He was never an especially ambitious man, and once his dad and mom die he’ll be even less so. But he is vain and seeks reassurance so will make the rounds of Christian colleges, small business associations and other sanctuaries of sanctimony in Oklahoma, Colorado, etc. giving speeches advocating simple solutions to simplified problems; wishful thinking and thoughtless wishing. He’ll always stumble over the words, and have those awkward silences in the speeches where his stupifyingly shallow profundities are supposed to be sinking in, until the day when he forgets to start speaking again and has to be led from the dias.

Stand-up comedy? We all laugh at him anyway.

I recently fell into conversation with a stranger entirely on the strength of his Texas accent; he recognized mine at the same moment and we hit it off quite well. He was almost a stereotypical Texan; big, hearty, bluff, owned a Cadillac, etc., etc. He was from Dallas and when he learned Dallas was my home town, he launched into a tirade concerning some Dallas fat cats who had already set aside Bush’s Dallas home site; convenient to both SMU and a very prestigious Country Club. He actually became very livid in his denunciation of Bush and the Fat Cats; I thought he might have a stroke on the spot. He claimed that many, if not most, of the good folk who already lived in the community, himself included, had announced their plans to sell out and leave IF the Bush deal actually materialized. So, where did you get your inside information? I got mine from a total stranger.

Go on vacation.

… oh, wait. :smack:

Here is wisdom: If you have the right relatives, you can reach the presidency without even being ambitious!

I wouldn’t want him in charge of a Little League team.

He’ll finish his memoir, a 1000 word essay called “How I Spent My Presidency”, which will be proudly displayed at the George W. Bush Memorial Library along with his artwork (the crayon drawings and fingerpaintings he’s been working on in the Oval Office when he didn’t have naptime).

Seriously, though, he’ll lay low and work on the memoir. Then make occassional speaking  engagements. I don’t foresee him being an active ex-president like his dad.

Stay the hell out of Vermont, for one.

Mmmm…that’s a delicious scene to imagine. Vermont state troopers frogmarching GW to the local jailhouse…

$500 per word or $1000 per correctly pronounced word, whichever is greater.

Fools!

You really think Bush will cease being President???

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

Don’t see how Hillary will pardon her seeing as she has no chance to be the nominee… but…
I expect Bush will clear brush on the ranch for the next 30 years.

Like all politicians, he has gotten used to being the center of his world, the Decider, the Big Shot. What I wish is for him to fade into obscurity, ignored and neglected by all the “good friends” that are only there for what they can get.

Won’t happen. If nothing else that SS escort he will get will be a constant reminder that he is still important enough to guard for life. I doubt he will fade away either…though like past presidents he will most likely fade to the background by and large (Clinton being the exception to this).

Being a Texan, I just picked it up by osmosis. (That is, I don’t remember.)

Bush Sr lives in a gated community here in Houston. One without a golf course. Apparently the lot is very small; he built there after leaving DC. During his Presidency, his legal residence was a Houston hotel. There’s no State Income Tax in Texas.

Because he believes so deeply in his heart that what we’re doing in Irag is the right thing for everyone in this country he will join the troops in Iraq and stay there until the job is done.
He will do this because anything else will make him a hypocritical coward.
