So, whatcha snackin' on?

Hawaiian coffee shortbread cookies from Big Island Candies.

Everything upthread sounds yummy except the Nutella (which tastes like very stale hazelnuts to me), the soda (fizzy beverages are an abomination), and the blue jello (no explanation needed).

Wasabi peas and some mutant fruit, maybe half plum half apricot. I think it’s probably a pluot, but it was the most delicious sample at the farmers’ market, so I bought a bunch of them.

What’s this about not eating pizza when you get old? How old? Is dinner pizza going to make me explode in my sleep some night? I don’t remember getting a memo about this. I’m in my 50’s…just exactly what sort of danger am I in here?

Just looked for a snack, but nothing ready-to-eat in the house but a jar of sliced jalapenos. I’m thinking, not a good idea…

I have zucchini coming out of my ears*. So I have been eating zucchini non-stop for weeks now. I’ve cooked it every which way you can imagine. The other night I had zucchini with a side of zucchini - really it was soup with a side of zuchini baked with parmesan cheese.

I’ve heard ‘double salted licorice’ mentioned here on the Dope in the past. I found some at the World Market over the weekend and bought it. I have been snacking on it. It’s… different.
*And other places.

Chocolate and vanilla merangues from Trader Joe’s (the first one I’ve even seen in Michigan!) Why hasn’t anyone told me how good these things are?!

Almonds. I eat almonds every morning at 11. Yum.

You mean the one at Randall and 90?
It’s open to the public?
$3?
This is less than two miles from my house you bastard.

Also, howdy neighbor.

Two different people brought bagels in to work for two different occasions today. I’m really trying to be good and not have one. But it’s getting tough. If I snack this morning, that’s what it’s going to be.

looks forlornly at empty stomach

(Yesterday I noshed on an apple and a handful of popcorn…)

Trident chewing gum-strawberry and lime flavour. They’ve just brought out sugarfree choc and mint flavour-yewwwwwwwwww!

Someone bought some spectacular oatmeal raisin cookies to work today.

A big, fat, sweet, juicy, intensely-flavored nectarine from a local orchard. Damn, these things are good.

I read that as “internet-flavored nectarine”. I has a flavr?

But I eated it.

sorry, couldn’t resist

I started buying graham crackers last winter. Mmmmm, is right. Of course, I discovered they’re even better if you spread them with peanut butter, sprinkle on chocolate chips, top with marshmallows, and pop in the toaster oven until the marshmallows are melty and toasted.

Did I mention I initially bought graham crackers as a somewhat healthier dessert?

Anyway, I’m craving cupcakes at the moment, so I think I’m going to make a yellow cake with chocolate frosting.

Today, I have been rocking the green seedless grapes. Normally, I gravitate towards the absurdly fatty/cholesterol-filled/otherwise-clearly-bad-for-me foods, but I bought these grapes the other day on a whim, and they are quite clearly the awesome.

I just finished half of a big .77 lb manly ribeye steak. I grilled it on my smokeless rangetop kitchen grill. It was good, but I wish that I hadn’t been too lazy to grill the scallop squash that my supervisor gave me today. (His wife has a wonderful garden and grows all kinds of nice stuff and she gives the veggies to him to bring in to us and it’s all good!) Anyhow, the squash will have to wait for tomorrow when I have more energy.

Actually believe it or not, I want pizza now. Good heavens, I have been eating pizza every day since Monday and I am apparently still not tired of it. I think I may have mental problems.

Snackwise, I hate where I work. I work at Walmart, in the dry grocery dept. One of my main jobs is putting back on store shelves items that people took up to the cash registers, but decided not to buy. This means that over-&-over again, I return M&Ms, 3 Musketeers, Lindor Truffles, and Snickers Fun bars back to the shelves. Were I allergic to chocolate, no problem, but DARN YOU, WALMART GUESTS!!

Chocoholic that I am, I’m currently working my way through a bag of the Lindor Truffles (the dark chocolates are wonderful w/a glass of milk), and have at leat one bag of each of the others in my cupboard.

Love, Phil

Howdy neighbor. I’m just about within walking distance of that place. There’s another place to get good nuts on Bowes, just off McLean - Terri-Lynn, Inc.

As for my snackingness tonight, it’s pretzel flats and Sabra hummus, which is the best store-bought hummus EVER. And a LaCroix sparkling water.
