So What's for Dinner Tonight? (2020 Anything Goes Edition)

Oven died, so I’m scrounging leftovers and moping.

Barbecue turkey (heat and eat from the turkey farm) with latkes.

Last night was ham, cabbage, and potatoes. Tonight, hot dogs and the slaw I made from the rest of the cabbage.

My gf bought a cabbage to make corned beef and cabbage. That sucker was huge, bigger than a bowling ball and about twenty pounds. We made a huge bowl of coleslaw, used some in a big pot of soup, and there’s still more left than she needs for her corned beef & cabbage. :bowling:

Your colons are going to sparkle!

Last night was supposed to be sushi take out , but the restaurant was closed for ‘maintenance’, which got me worried as it is a great sushi place, fortunately no 'by order of the city ’ stickers on the front door. Houston traffic was an utter disaster and couldn’t get to the other good place so ended up going to a restaurant that sold a take home ‘lasagna meal for 6’. There were just 4 of us ( and one a hungry 16 year old boy) it still looks like we will have lasagna for 3 more days minimum.

I made and served up 15 bean soup so good nobody complained about the lack of a ham hock.

Chicken and vegetable pot stickers.

The other day I made latkes, using one packet of matzo meal from the box. Last night I used the other packet to make matzo balls, which I added to our fish soup leftovers.

I swear I am about to turn into Garfield

An eclectic meal that was made up of stuff that’s been sitting in my fridge: a slice of lasagna, two slices of banana bread with orange marmalade, a salad bowl with chicken and walnuts, some chocolate yogurt, half a bag of buffalo blue cheese combos, and a lime-watermelon seltzer.

Tonight will be falafel patties with tzatziki sauce and some coleslaw.

Nemo, you’re the only person in history who has eaten that particular meal! Maybe.

No judgment, but day-um! You must have some amazing dreams!

Especially if I’ve had some rarebit.

BBQ Pulled Turkey sandwiches made from Thanksgiving leftovers. Pretty good.

A big mug of steamed eggnog with RumChata, and a York pepperming patty.

Gobi Manchurian (spicy cauliflower) served with grilled skinless/boneless chicken breast.

Tonight is Wolfgang Puck’s Shrimp in Chardonnay-Dijon Cream sauce (though I use sherry instead), salad, and biscuits.

Tomorrow will be our Big Holiday Meal - prime rib, spinach souffle, mashed potatoes, fruit salad and bauernbrot from the German bakery. I got a buche de Noel for dessert. It’s cute!

We started our Christmas junk food cooking last night, so it was Chex mix and no-bake cookies.
