So what's the scoop on the 'untitled J.J. Abrams project'?

There was a flurry of internet messaging a few months ago when an enigmatic trailer for a J.J. Abrams movie appeared before the Transformers movie. Speculation that it was based on H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu stories, etc. Viral marketing sites named “Cloverfield’” and “Ethan Haas Was Right” sprang up. The official trailer was supposed to premiere (if trailers can ‘premiere’) before the Beowulf movie. I haven’t seen Beowulf yet, probably won’t until after turkey day at least. But I was wondering what the deal was? Does this flick have a name yet? Anything specific revealed?

Saw Beowulf and saw the trailer. I tis called “Cloverfield” and it looks like it could be really cool, but it also looks like I might get sick watching all the handheld video.

So you mean after months of articles that have “It’s not really called Cloverfield!” somewhere in them, it ended up being called Cloverfield?

Bravo marketing gurus.

No Star Trek teaser on Beowulf?

And, just a heads-up, “Ethan Haas Was Right” really -didn’t-- have anything to do with the film (much to my own disapointment). It was connected to the release of some MMO, IIRC.

There was no Cloverfield trailer in the Beowulf showing I saw?

I went to a 3-D showing of Beowulf, so maybe it is just before them.

You can find a link to the trailer in this thread.
