CNN.
Yeah, it’s gone downhill. But, at least I’ll know if the world blew up overnight.

The Straight Dope.
Frightening, isn’t it?
At work, my homepage is set to Salesforce.com’s login screen. I spend 90% of my non-email-related time working in that tool, so it’s only fitting.
At home, I use a personalized iGoogle page, with feeds from a few tech sites and the BBC, as well as a translation gadget, a Google calendar gadget, and the weather. I’ve got some other tabs set up that I rarely use, but I use everything on the home tab at least once a day.
I love me some iGoogle - here’s a screenshot: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_eOYAivRbbu0/SqhcijmZLFI/AAAAAAAAFtc/C7KsxJhg7Gw/iGoogle%20screen.jpg
hobscrk777, I use Speed Dial on my kids’ pc and the HTPC where only a few sites are even allowed, but I find that on my pc, I browse so many different sites, Speed Dial’s interface doesn’t cut it. Now, if they could combine Speed Dial with FoxTab (purty OS X-esque tab flipping/cover flow), I’d be in business.
I use MyYahoo
It’s less cluttered and more familiar to me than my google one.
Especially when you consider how slow it is.

I am ashamed, people.
Or maybe I’m just slower than most of us…you…them over there…
I use gmail as my home page.
Does anyone know if there is a way for FireFox to open multiple, different home pages at once for one browser window?
I go to all the same sites, make the rounds as it were, and it would be nice if I can just open FF and have all my sites load at once.
I’m using Firefox 3, go to Tools, Options, Main. Under Startup, When Firefox Starts:, select “Show my Windows and Tabs from last time.” Then whatever tabs you have open when you close Firefox will be loaded the next time you run it.
That’s awesome! Thanks.
At work my page is blank, because sometimes the boss asks me a question and I go online while he’s looking over my shoulder.
In the living room the browser is set to the TV listings so I can check in a hurry.
My laptop is set to New York Times, although I start my day with The New York Times Crossword (published free by the LA Times)
Wow. I use Yahoo, but apparently I’m (almost) the only one.

iGoogle.
You can also set a specific set of tabs as your home page, not reliant on the last set of tabs you had open. Simply open all the tabs you want as your “Home Page” set and go to Tools > Options > Main and click “Use Current Pages”. If you like, you can also bookmark a set of tabs from the Bookmark menu (or with Ctrl+Shift+D), where you’ll be prompted to give the set a folder name.
As for my home page, it’s just about:blank, mostly because I tend to open and close Firefox more than once or twice throughout the day, and simply don’t need to see the same page every time I do so. I’ve always wondered if those who set a specific home page tend to open their browser once and leave it open all day.
Thanks for the alternate method!
Yes, for the most part I do leave it open all the time I’ll be near the computer. If I were to open and close my browser frequently though I’d still want to have certain pages open each time I start the browser.
For years it was Yahoo, but I decided this last time when they did their ‘update’ that I hated it and am on the prowl for a new home page. Temporarily I have CNN but I am not happy with it.
I might try this blank though–that seems to be a good starting point. Is it just www.blank.com or org or ??
about:blank when I open Firefox; iGoogle as my actual homepage.
It’s about:blankvBulletin doesn’t seem to like it, but it should work if you copy and paste it.
Hakuna: The blank page people use for their homepage is a setting under Tools → Options for Firefox. You just choose “Show a blank page” on the drop down list. Which I now know about thanks to the posters above.
It was embarrassingly simple. Usually I spend a decent amount of time going through the “settings” of the programs and stuff that I have, so I can know all the little options and stuff they give you. I just managed to miss that drop down list with FF.
Google. Cuz it loads quick. If my Internet is no worky, I know in a hurry.
