So, what's your poison?

Vodka tonic with lemon.

Beer - I dislike hoppy beers ( and accordingly really dislike most IPAs ) and tend to gravitate more to mellower brown ales like Newcastle or Negro Modelo and milder stouts like Guinness.

Wine - All over the map, but I typically prefer the fruit-forward, less resolutely tannic wines of the type that Old World wine afficianados despise.

Mixed Drinks - Love all sorts of sugary “girly” drinks. Mojitos and daiquiris are common orders when I’m out. At home I’ll make cosmopilitans, simple seabreezes or margaritas ( on the rocks ), which is typically all I’m set up for. I do prefer pricier booze over the cheap stuff.

Hard Stuff ( straight ) - I’ll dabble very lightly in pricier Irish whiskies, tequilas, rums and a select few single-malts scotchs, like Glenmorangie. I loathe Islay malts ( might as well be drinking liquid tar  ) and I haven’t touched gin since a truly regrettable incident in my sophmore year of High School. In my wild youth I was fond of drinking shots of vodka from the feezer, but now I only mix with the stuff.

Beer - This week, I’m really liking Bell’s Kalamazoo Stout, and having fun with a variety pack from Flying Dog.

Wine - a good, dry red. Kendall Jackson Cabernet makes me smile…

Harder than that? Margaritas or Bailey’s (in coffee or on the rocks, depending on the season.)

Beer: I prefer dark beer; I like Samuel Adams

Wine: Chateau Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon
Fat Bastard Chardonay

Hard Stuff: Bourbon & Coke.
Wild Turkey
Jack Daniel Black

Trick Stuff: Amaretto and coffee

Beer: Cascade Light, Coopers Pale, Kilkenny
Wine: Savignon blanc if I have a choice otherwise whatever’s going.
Spirits: Beam and coke.

Normally I drink the Cascade Light then maybe move on to the Beam if I’m getting bloated.

I almost never drink beer, but when I do I am partial to Corona. I generally drink cider. Apple, pear, or even berry will do. It’s usually a cider or a mojito for me.

Hey, it’s good. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it.

Beer on Sundays while I watch football

Bombay and Tonic, slice of lime, as an aperitif

Wine, mostly old world red, all other times

Jacob’s Ladder :
1 oz Absolut Kurant Vodka
1/2 oz Triple Sec
1 glass(es) Light Beer
2 oz Cranberry Juice
1 oz Pineapple Juice

Pour vodka into shot glass with the triple sec. Drop into beer mug then add cranberry and pineapple juice. Top off with beer. Yum!

OR

A Frosty Navel.
It’s basically a fuzzy navel blended with ice cream into an alcoholic peach shake.

No beer for me, thanks, but I loves me a shot of Patron Silver with salt and lime.

Young’s Chocolate Stout for beer
Frozen Midori margarita or Cosmos for a night out with the girls

I like my beer black as sin and twice as bitter. Otherwise, I’m a liquor snob and refuse to drink anything I can afford.

Beer only. I don’t like the taste of alcohol in wine or liquors.

Anchor Steam is my “always in the fridge” beer along with single bottles of whatever I pick up at BevMo.

I like a good Rum Runner but it is way too girlie looking to ever drink in public, so I just get either a Jack and Coke or a Whiskey Stone Sour.

Rum. Ohhh do I ever love my rum. I especially enjoy Appletons. It tastes like ginger beer.

Don’t worry, Jim. I’d be happy happy to ease your reluctance by braving any Sam Adams sent your way.

I’m still crying in my Sam Adams Boston Lager over the discontinuation of Redhook Double Black Stout. Rich, full bodied and aromatic with a long lasting head. It was made with Starbucks coffee. Man, you could drink that stuff for breakfast. (and on many occasions I have :D).
I do love Sam Adams Cream Stout, but it’s not available where I shop. If it was I’d drink it all the time.
Another good one is Rasputin Imperial Russian Stout. If you ever come across it give it a try. But be careful! That stuff will knock you on your ass. (9% alcohol)

My Poison: Whiskey. Especially Bourbon. I like the way it tastes. I like the way it smells. I like the way it feels going down. But I just can’t touch it. Makes me crazy as a loon so I have to stay away from it. Thank Og for beer!

Nice glass of Merlot or Shiraz, please. Never really been a fan of beer.

Tooheys Old. It’s the only mainstream Australian pub beer that isn’t an overly-sweet lager. It’s a big, fuck off, malty, thirst-quenching black ale brewed originally for coal miners. It’s lovely.

Any of those pale, yellow Scotch whiskies that were designed for the illicit US prohibition market (Cutty Sark, J&B, etc).

A big, robust South Australian Shiraz, served with a rare steak.

Beer and wine don’t do it for me. I don’t like the fermented taste – my booze needs to be distilled.

Every night I go out, I always start with a sexual alligator (layered Chambord, Midori, and Jäger) and then maybe a liquid cocaine (151, Goldschlager, and Jäger) or a Tokyo tea (Long Island minus the Coke plus Midori). I’ll switch to something fruity (vodka cranberry, cosmopolitan, mojito) to keep the buzz through the evening. If it’s been a rough night, I’ll keep it easy – daiquiri, bay breeze, or something with more fruit juice than alcohol.

Beer:
[ol]
[li]Any kind of pale ale. The more hops, the better.[/li][li]Bocks[/li][li]Porters and stouts[/li][/ol]

Not a big wine dude, but I can dig a ten dollar pinot grigio or Chilean cab.

Hard stuff: Whiskey with an “e”. Most bars, this means Jameson & soda, though I prefer Tully. If I’m in a mood to get in trouble, I’ll re-enact the Troubles in shots: Jameson on the left, Bushmills on the right, and Tully in the middle, all fighting for control of my belly.
