Favorite drinks? (alcoholic)

What are some of your favorite drinks? Me, I don’t like the taste of alcohol so I drink frou-frou sissy girly mixed drinks. Some of my favorites:

margarita
white russian (especially with vanilla vodka)
buttery nipple
chocolate martini
sex on the beach
various daquiris
pina colada
electric kamikazi
nuts & berries

and then there are any number of inventions that various bars make up as their own specialties…

So what do you like?

Martini(shaken, not stirred)
Gin and Tonic
Margarita
Rum and (lime)Coke

White Russians (the Dude’s beverage of choice) and whiskey & Coke.

I drink a lot of Bud Light. It’s my drink of choice.
Margaritas, no salt.
Strawberry daiquiris with the mix, not real strawberries (seeds squick me out)

But I’m in college and I mainly drink beer. When I get an apartment and a 21 year old roommate in August, I’ll start trying more kinds of beer too.

I totally cannot drink beer. I hate the taste :frowning: Some ciders are ok, if they’re sweet enough.

Favorite wine would be a German reisling that I don’t remember the name of… it’s in a blue bottle… really yummy stuff…

This is a rum and juice cocktail drink that I concocted (bahama mama variant?):
3/4 oz. Malibu® coconut rum
1 oz Bacardi® Superior rum
3/4 oz. Arrow® banana schnappes
2 oz. OJ (not from concentrate)
2 oz. pineapple juice
dash of grenadine
splash of Sprite®

Fill hurricane-type glass w/ ice cubes and add ingredients in descending order as listed. Drink w/ a funny, colorful straw. Optional: add slice of pineapple and/or orange and a parasol umbrella.

Margarita, hands down. Lots of salt on the rocks. Preferably with Cointreau and Grand Marnier…I don’t like it too sweet, though.

I like Mudslides too. Baileys, Frangelico, Kahlua…

Almost anything from Montreal’s McAuslan brewery.

For pure beery enjoyment, nothing beats the McAuslan Cream Ale (though the St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout is nice, too). If I want to have a pint or three, though, I default to the much lighter St. Ambroise Pale.

Best brewery in Canada, in my opinion.

My boyfriend’s family has the best margarita recipe ever:

In your blender, empty one of the little cans of frozen limeade mix. This can is now your measuring cup. Add: half a can of triple sec. 3/4 can of tequila. a splash of amaretto, and a splash of water. Add a bunch of ice and blend until smoothe. Add more ice if it isn’t slushy enough.

Bass or Guiness

Jack and Coke

Irish Coffee

 That is shockingly close to my “college margarita” recipe, which, as an adult, I can no longer drink because it has way too much alcohol in it. Little can of frozen limeade, a can of tequila, a can of vodka, half a can of triple sec, splash of amaretto.

Damn tasty, but damn strong. We’ve tried them at half strength, and even then they’re too much.

Now, my favorite drinks are probably a martini or a vodka gimlet.

My aunt does it like that but adds a splash of OJ too. Not bad.

Gin and tonic.

Bourbon.

Cape Cod (but it has to be my special recipe).

Good beer.

I’m pretty boring. I like Tanqueray or Bombay Sapphire & Tonic on a hot night. In the winter I might sip a good Irish or Scotch whiskey. I’m pretty much a beer & wine guy. My sister worked as a bartender while in school, and has made me about a gazillion different drinks (getting a “Screaming Multiple Orgasm” from your sister is a bit awkward) and I never ask for seconds. I like 'em, but they just don’t hold my interest, for some reason.

From the Downtown Grill & Brewery in Knoxville, TN:
The Downtown Nut Brown, the State Street Stout and the Alt are fantastic

From Bosco’s Brewery in Nashvegas:
The Germantown Alt and Isle of Skye are excellent; the last time I ate there they had just uncasked that week’s special: Hillsborough Stout. Room temperature and delicious.

From the Blackstone Brewery, also in Nashville:
The Nut Brown is nice, but I prefer the St. Charles Porter. I like the Red Springs, too. The only thing is that there’s too much uniformity throughout their selection…

The best beer I’ve had in a while was a Calhoun’s seasonal bock. This was just last weekend in Gatlinburg (Smokey Mt. Brewery, just behind the Calhoun’s). I could’ve just kept sipping on that bock all dang night. And I love the Tuckaleechee Porter, too.

And I’m never one to turn down a cool Goose Island Honker Ale. Too bad I can only get 'em in Chicago.

Sometimes an Amaretto & cream, but it’s been years
Beer

Sidecar
Pegu Club Cocktail
Whiskey Cocktail (aka an Old-Fashioned)
Margarita
Champagne Cocktail
Sazerac
Manhattan Cocktail
Bronx Cocktail

I’m also quite fond of something of my own invention–it’s conceptually similar to a perfect Manhattan, but made with single-barrel rum, maraschino, and dry vermouth.

Irish whiskey

Dark, dark beer

Spiced rum

In the summer, a mojito is really good, especially with a stalk of sugar caine. I like them more minty than sweet.

I also like a good bourbon on the rocks with just a splash of water.

Black and Tan

Gin and Tonic

In the winter, a hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps.

Beer: Waterloo Dark by Brick Brewery. If you can get your hands on some, I highly recommend it. One of the finest dark beers out there.

Wine: Late Harvest Riesling by Pelee Island Winery. Fantastic light dessert wine that goes very nicely with a slice of old cheddar. Only available from retailers during the fall around here.

Fruity frou-frou: Tequila Rose.

Random mix: Southern Comfort and Wink.
