I watched the intro cinematic to World of Warcraft a couple of times. I think Blizzard makes some very good cutscenes, and lately they’ve been looking better and better. Since this particular game doesn’t follow a linear plot, the intro is kind of a ‘30 second tour’ of the game, particularly the PvP aspect. In the into we have:
Dwarf Hunter vs Tauren Shaman- The Hunter sics his bear at the Tauren, squeezes off a shot, but the Tauren appears to put the whammy on the bear.
Orc Warrior vs Night Elf Druid- The Orc is flailing around like Courtney Love on a coke binge while the Night Elf is dodging and parrying his blows.
Undead Warlock vs Human Mage- The Warlock has a summoned Infernal ( ) which has the mage cornered as he’s furiously pumping fire/ice bolts(can’t remember which) into the thing.
Of these matchups, I’d say the Dwarf is definitely toast considering the smackdown his pet received, once the Tauren starts throwing down totems and getting into melee range the Dwarf is screwed. The Orc vs Night Elf could go either way, it didn’t seem like a really decisive battle there. And I’d say the Mage is in trouble unless the Warlock loses control of the Infernal and it turns on him. Dunno about in WoW, but in WCIII, Infernals were immune to magic, making them extrmely formidible.
On another note, they left out two races! They should have also had
Troll Rogue vs Gnome…uhhh…- They messed up! They should have made the human a priest, that way they could have had a Gnome Mage (staying within the rules of what race can be what class). A Troll Rogue vs Gnome mage would be a pretty funny cutscene. Trolls are like 3x taller than Gnomes I believe
