Please tell me I’m not the only one. This is the first time I’ve ever forgotten to change my clocks. I remembered when I was lying in bed this morning thinking “Shit, it’s getting late - I better get up.” Then I remembered I had an extra hour, so I guess it was a good thing. At least I remembered before my afternoon appointments today.
I’ve got my computer right next to my alarm clock. My alarm went off at 5:30 to get me up for work on time, but my computer read 4:30. So, I went back to bed for an hour, but set my watch to wake me up in an hour as well, just in case I slept through my proper alarm clock.
my watch went off at 6:30. Proper time, but I’ve been getting to work a little late this past week, and that just added a bit more stress than was necessary.
Glad to say, it’s all taken care of now.
Actually, I was up very late on Saturday night (Sunday morning, actually) and happened to get home at a little after 2:00 AM PDT. This, for the first time in my life, gave me the opportunity to set my clocks back at the actual OFFICIAL time to do it!!!
You can see, by the fact that I’m excited about this, that I either qualify as:
a) having no real life to speak of … or
b) being an incurable techno-dweeb.
Please, tell me that it’s still Sunday, and that your title should have said “today” instead of “yesterday”. Why?
Because I have no TV and no radio and now you’ve gotten me worried that I should be at work instead of lounging around in my nightgown.
(I am in the US also.)
I still wouldn’t know if my computer hadn’t set back automatically. I got up at ten, and was cursing my lazy ass, looked at the time on the computer, had a moment of confusion, then realized it was OK, because I’d really gotten up at nine.
I almost invariably forget. Employers don’t push the fall change, because they don’t have to deal with employees coming in late. A few times I’ve shown up to work an hour early 'round this time of year.
About half of my apartment is at the correct time, and the other half isn’t. I’ll be fixing it periodically throughout the day. Of course, now my car will be totally off for the next 6 months, because I don’t remember how to change the time on the stereo I do know that it requires me turning it off first, but that NEVER happens, so its just easier to subtract
I love having several clocks that simply set themselves. I set the last few myself this morning when I got up to realize I hadn’t overslept as much as I’d thought I had.
I forgot. Woke up this morning, stared at the clock in my room which read 9:30. Went into the living room and all the clocks said 8:30. Momentary confusion followed.
It’s really a good thing that I have family who remembers these things.
For some reason, my computer’s clock wasn’t set to automatically update for daylight saving changes, so I would have forgotten completely if I hadn’t seen this thread.
I totally forgot. I didn’t realize today was the day until my computer told me. When I checked my e-mail I found 6 “Don’t forget to set you clock back” e-mails. Well gee, thanks, could have told me YESTERDAY! So now I am trying to talk myself into going around the HenHouse and changing all the clocks.
 I totally forgot. Thank God for this thread. I was sitting around wondering why someone was supposed to call me at 11:30 hadn’t called yet. Now I feel guilty for being mad at him. Oh Well, it will just be our little secret.:smack:
I set my clocks back for the first time in my life early yesterday morning. It’s neat… but the novelty wore off quickly. I prefer living in a state where all I have to do is figure out if rest of the country’s two hours or three hours ahead of me. None of this clock tweaking nonsense.
This is my favorite day - no, week of the year. I’m chronically late, so this is the only week that I’m reliably on time before I start slipping into bad habits again.
Here in the Legend household, we purposely don’t change the clocks back on the eve of The Happiest Day of the Year. This enables us to wake up, look at our clocks, and savor the deliciousness of being able to sleep a whole hour later! After we get up, each member of the family gets to choose a clock to change and we accomplish that slowly over the course of the day. There is a ceremonious changing of the VCR clocks sometime before prime time TV starts up, and then we have the ritual sacrifice and the bonfire.
Okay, we don’t really do that last part, but I swear this day is better than most holidays for me.
While I don’t have to worry about time in real life I did just realize that rather then a 10:30pm downtime the SDMB will have an 11:30pm downtime. Which means I can browse an extra hour! Excellent.
Ooh! I do have to reset my SDMB time to an hour later. That is something. Hooray! I’m no longer on Midway time here but back to Hawaii time.
Hmm, it appears as though the SDMB time is about 5 minutes fast. Anybody else notice this?
